Too many commericals, too much repition, no indepenent artists, national radio talk show host are all to the Right of Nixon, practically every station in Denver is owned by Evil Clear Channel so every show sounds exactly the fudging same, I could go on for hours.

Only about 3 stations come in where I live now on FM and and maybe 3 more on AM.
I don't like most of the music.
I don't like DJs.
The stations are all owned by "clear channel" and play the same crap.
The good NPR shows I never on when I listen.

I don't listen to radio much anyway, so it doesn't matter. I listen to music on CDs the most. When I used to commute I would listen to books on tape.

The stations that play adverts. And DJ's with cheesy voices. Shut up and play the gosh darn record.

And I hate their quizzes where people phone up.

Some of my favorite stations can be hard to pick up in certain areas.

Same song....over...and over...and over...did I forget to mention....and over?
In addition they only play the *'cool'* songs.
Too many commercials
Too much talk
Not enough music in general for a music station.
CD's are *much* clearer than radios * laughing out loud *

(1) they do not play the music I like (American folk blues and various WORLD music, especially Portuguese fado and Brazilian music -- and NOT the usual popular blandola bossa-nova type stuff but favela-type "rough" sambas); (2) I detest radio commercials -- loud, obnoxious and have nothing to do with me or my lifestyle -- just like TV commercials; (3) I get too much static when I (rarely) turn on the radio -- cannot find the stations I am looking for, either; (4) not enough talk programs that really interest me -- I invariably get religious fanatics or political krapola....

They control 2 stations in our area and they play the exact same thing on both (same feed).

1) Excessive control by the schedulers so that the presenters don't have any freedom to be themselves. Apparently, the GWR group in the UK allows its presenters a grand total of *one* unscripted "personality" link per hour - all the rest, they have to read the script verbatim. That sucks, big time.

2) Excessive numbers and repetition of commercials.

3) Excessive repetition of jingles.

No stations locally that play the type of music I enjoy:
goth
industrial
synth pop
ambient
experimental
death metal
grind core
thrash
punk(sorry, Good Charlotte and the Used is not PUNK!Jebus!)
It's depressing...so I listen to MP3's or Cd's

They're worse in Colorado. In Denver alone they own 12 (that's right, 12) s out of the, I think, 18 FM radio stations in the Denver county area, and I think they own several AM stations too.

I understand that commercials are a necessary evil (unless the station is listener supported, but I don't care for the format of those stations, in my area, anyway), regardless, they are still my least favorite thing about the radio...and TV for that matter.

Yeah, there are still some ads, but when travelling it is great not having to try to find stations. I can listen to the NASCAR race uninterrupted if I want. Plus I am a talk radio junky so it works out great for me. When listening to music I like it MUCH more since the dj's don't babble on and on about nothing.

They only play techno, soft pop, bad rap and stuff.
And too many ads.
I suppose there's something good on it but you have to look very carefully and I'd rather put a CD I like on and listen to that.
