| Mattias | posted 28-Jan-1999 4:23am Caffeine, nicotine and some aminoacids (taurine and the likes of it. Not GHB). In other words only legal drugs. I also checked alcohol... |
| Wicksy | posted 28-Jan-1999 5:57am ephedrine : for body building. Wouldn't recommend it though |
| anonymous | posted 28-Jan-1999 7:05am Dextromethorphan |
| bill | posted 28-Jan-1999 8:30am I was given Valium before a surgical procedure - I'm counting that, even though I didn't really "try it", it was part of the process (and it was a good thing). |
| anonymous | posted 28-Jan-1999 10:37am I was given Valium before a surgical procedure too. It was a bad thing. Made me even more panicky. |
| jjg | posted 28-Jan-1999 10:46am In addition to the three I checked above: aspirin, ibuprofen, acetaminophen, amoxicillin, penicillin, and Duracef. |
| eris | posted 28-Jan-1999 11:47am Assuming that is what you meant, this is the first time I've ever heard of lithium as a recreational drug. Sounds unpleasant! A few you forgot that others haven't yet mentioned: opium, mushrooms (psilocybin), peyote (mescaline), barbiturates, nitrous oxide, poppers (amyl nitrite). sp: "darvocet" No, I have not tried all these. |
| hunter | posted 28-Jan-1999 12:52pm And it wasn't really cool! :) |
| hunter | posted 28-Jan-1999 12:54pm Darvocet? |
| anonymous | posted 28-Jan-1999 1:24pm Ritalin. where's mushrooms? |
| daver | posted 28-Jan-1999 1:37pm Well, I'm happy to see that government prohibition of marijuana has such a significant effect on its use. (And, yes, I realize that there might be someone on here who lives somewhere where it's legal.) |
| eris | posted 28-Jan-1999 1:47pm Darvocet (propoxyphene) is a "mild" (the manufacturer's term) narcotic painkiller structurally related to methadone. |
| anonymous | posted 28-Jan-1999 2:32pm Caffeine, nitrous oxide, psilocybin mushrooms, nicotine, codeine, amphetamine, opium, amyl nitrate, nefazodone. |
| jonathan | posted 28-Jan-1999 3:38pm Wow...if there's anything that would say that SC has a limited subset of the total population, the demographics on this survey are it. |
| dab | posted 28-Jan-1999 3:50pm I'm assuming Special K is some recreational drug of which I'm unaware rather than the breakfast cereal. |
| lovenlife | posted 28-Jan-1999 4:01pm Actually, Special "K" is Keratin which is commonly used for tranquilizers for animals. It gives humans a mix of speed and alcohol effect. It's used a lot in the Rave and/or gay clubs in my experience. I was also speaking of drugs that go beyond nicotine, caffeine, and aspirin. Drugs that people do not use on a day to day basis...well, maybe some people. |
| lovenlife | posted 28-Jan-1999 4:10pm jen: correct. All this talk of drugs confused me... It is Ketamine. Thanks for the correction |
| grmbrand | posted 29-Jan-1999 10:29am You forgot "puppy chow" |
| lizzie | posted 29-Jan-1999 2:12pm Special K the cereal? I'm really ignorant about these things...I've only tried alcohol. |
| they | posted 30-Jan-1999 11:32am Alcohol, Marijuana, LSD, shrooms, Valium, Darvaset, Vicodin, and a few other pills that I didn't know what I was taking at the time. |
| they | posted 30-Jan-1999 11:33am A friend of mine used to give me valium... she used it quite often.. I found that I would wake up extremely dogy the next day. |
| phi | posted 30-Jan-1999 7:41pm Nitrous Oxide. |

| daver | posted 31-Jan-1999 6:00pm **bill: Why does it worry me that you created a site that uses the initials SC? |
| wynkin | posted 1-Feb-1999 7:39am Did some grass in college, MANY years ago. It didn't interest me. I only drink occasionally. |
| bill | posted 1-Feb-1999 8:00am daver: hey, cool! Perhaps I should create a special off-shoot of SC called Contact - a place where old-timers make first contact with new users. |
| Sammy70 | posted 3-Feb-1999 7:52am Nicotin (don't like it .. but try to roll a hashish joint without Tobacco!:( ), Mushrooms, Caffeine (as seen in Coke and Pepsi). Anyway : Hemp is still the best (in terms of health issues, effects and social behaviour while under the influence). Drunk Alcohol may taste better than smoked cannabis, but you can still make brownies or tea. Sadly (?) I didn't drink or smoke for quite a long time. |
| anonymous | posted 3-Feb-1999 8:25am cannabis tea! |
| they | posted 4-Feb-1999 2:49am sammy... I love the taste of tobacco and especially marijuana... to each his own I guess... I have weird taste buds.. I could eat salt or miracle whip by the spoonful :) |
| sam | posted 8-Feb-1999 10:21pm now that the 70s are over, does anyone injest chemical mystery cocktails anymore? when i think about those days i marvel at the simpleminded way in which we trusted those who said "try this!" and did. the fact that i'm still alive occasionally takes me by surprise. |
| reality | posted 9-Feb-1999 2:10pm I'll assume that special K is not the cereal and will therefor not check it. |
| drdt | posted 11-Feb-1999 4:53pm Special K is a drug? That explains my parents. |
| jettles | posted 13-Feb-1999 12:45am psychedelic mushrooms ketamine or "special k" is a medication or sedative used in the hospital setting as well as being a street drug, it is known for the powerful nightmares it can cause. |
| Handle | posted 15-Feb-1999 11:24am I just found the advanced stats option and I noticed that the average age of people who tried crystal meth was 61 years old. I thought that would be lower because crystal meth is a "hot" drug right now. I was also surprised that LSD had such a low average age because I figured a substantial portion of the people who tried that drug would be baby boomers. Does anyone else think this is odd? |
| bill | posted 17-Feb-1999 8:39am I had thought that LSD, though it had gained media attention in the 60's, has been used much more in the 80's and 90's. As for Crystal Meth - I think that's a fluke in that a single user is listed as being 81 years old - I'm looking into that as it seems very unlikely. |
| anonymous | posted 21-Feb-1999 9:53pm Wow, what a little druggie I am! Every one on the list, except Valium and Lithium(<- what the heck, trying to find the bipolars on the site?) And also: psilocybin mescaline peyote opium nitrous oxide Salvia divinorum San Pedro cactus MDA 2CB DOB DMT 5-MEO-DMT I may have overlooked one or two less of the impressive tryptamines. |
| kristalynn | posted 4-Apr-1999 3:01pm Alcohol and pot are the only drugs i've done but there's been stronger things in my pot. I have no idea what. umm I'm on prozac hehe |
| mandy | posted 9-Apr-1999 12:27am speed? |
