| kaleb777 | posted 25-Jul-2003 2:40pm Life is like crap - it stinks, is depressing to be mixed up in, leaves a bad taste in your mouth, and is governed by arseholes. |
| mandy | posted 25-Jul-2003 3:00pm It's more like an electric bus with an accordion middle under the streets of Seattle....in a pretty blue tunnel |
| Jody | posted 25-Jul-2003 3:01pm Life is a gift from God. That doesn't mean it's peachy or perfect all the time. Nobody promises that. But when I stop and think of how blessed I am - all the icky stuff just seems to take a much lower level of importance. |
| Jemmy | posted 25-Jul-2003 3:37pm A train that continuously has to switch tracks, probably. |
| dora | posted 25-Jul-2003 4:45pm Life is too complicated to answer to this. |
| moonstone | posted 25-Jul-2003 5:14pm what about the peace train? |
| juliw | posted 25-Jul-2003 5:23pm A train where every stop is different. |
| Hyena | posted 25-Jul-2003 5:24pm Those are all so negative. For me it's just a train. It's running fine - maybe it has problems sometimes - slows down for obstacles, breaks down, has annoying people in it - but it's not as miserable as these descriptions. |
| romkey | posted 25-Jul-2003 8:51pm I don't think I'd use a train metaphor at all... |
| southernyankee | posted 26-Jul-2003 1:07am most likely the track switching one. Also, if you did this with cars, it be a fork in a road. The overcrowed and no conductor also sound plausible. |
| southernyankee | posted 26-Jul-2003 1:11am Actually its like a pack of mailmen trying desperatly get to all the houses (destinations), as many as possible, but cant get to all of them, and have to decide which ones to visit first, and if you work hard enough, and manage your time wisely, you get to more houses than you would if you slack off, or spend more quility time hanging out with neighbors on coffee break, but you still have to make a choice. |
| LindaH | posted 26-Jul-2003 1:19am a train that would have to stop constantly because of all the annoying people wandering around on the tracks |
| Richard47 | posted 26-Jul-2003 7:57am My caboose is always just a little bit ahead of the conductor! |
| Richard47 | (reply to kaleb777) posted 26-Jul-2003 7:58am This statement coming from someone who seldom strays from his "hut". |
| Richard47 | (reply to mandy) posted 26-Jul-2003 7:59am Then there are those pesty three way traffic intersections!! |
| Richard47 | (reply to Jody) posted 26-Jul-2003 8:00am I think God is a gift from Life! |
| Richard47 | (reply to moonstone) posted 26-Jul-2003 8:01am Or "Soul Train"! |
| kaleb777 | (reply to Richard47) posted 26-Jul-2003 8:03am I do have TV and the internet you know. |
| Richard47 | (reply to southernyankee) posted 26-Jul-2003 8:05am Hillbilly mailmen, Snake! |
| justjulie | posted 26-Jul-2003 8:34am train w/ no destination "...freight train freight train running so fast; please don't tell what train i'm on, they won't know what route i'm going..." |
| Kristal_Rose | posted 26-Jul-2003 9:02am If you mean reality, a very accomodating tour train. If you mean how I often perceive my own life, late, switching, and could, often taking secret shortcuts or just sitting in the station. |
| Lahdee | (reply to LindaH) posted 26-Jul-2003 9:04am ROFL! YES! |
| Enheduanna | posted 26-Jul-2003 10:21am I, personally, would probably not use a train analogy to sum up life in general. But of these, I think the train continuously switching tracks is the most apt. |
| moonstone | (reply to Richard47) posted 26-Jul-2003 10:22am Exactly!! |
| Dino | posted 26-Jul-2003 5:35pm The switching tracks one. |
| OfTheSoul | (reply to LindaH) posted 27-Jul-2003 12:28am I LIKE that! |
| ROCKMAN | posted 27-Jul-2003 8:16am These are all to negative for me. |
| Richard47 | (reply to moonstone) posted 27-Jul-2003 9:26am Choo-Choo??? |
| moonstone | (reply to Richard47) posted 27-Jul-2003 10:51am Chugga Chugga... |
| Richard47 | (reply to moonstone) posted 27-Jul-2003 11:04am Now that reminds me of my beer drinking marathons in college. Now, you have me thirsty!! |
| moonstone | (reply to Richard47) posted 27-Jul-2003 11:24am Is that all I have you? |
| Richard47 | (reply to moonstone) posted 27-Jul-2003 12:28pm Well, you have me horny. Do you want me to say that too???? |
| moonstone | (reply to Richard47) posted 27-Jul-2003 2:36pm |
| dora | posted 28-Jul-2003 12:36pm Is...like...a train full of people about to derail (the train, not the people),or even better one of those trains they used to carry people to concentration camps. But somehow there's someone playing an accordion in a beautiful way.Or someone remembered to take the cards and you can play with them. Still is not so simple. |
