Life is like crap - it stinks, is depressing to be mixed up in, leaves a bad taste in your mouth, and is governed by arseholes.

It's more like an electric bus with an accordion middle under the streets of Seattle....in a pretty blue tunnel * grin *

Life is a gift from God. That doesn't mean it's peachy or perfect all the time. Nobody promises that. But when I stop and think of how blessed I am - all the icky stuff just seems to take a much lower level of importance.

A train that continuously has to switch tracks, probably.

A train where every stop is different.

Those are all so negative. For me it's just a train. It's running fine - maybe it has problems sometimes - slows down for obstacles, breaks down, has annoying people in it - but it's not as miserable as these descriptions.

I don't think I'd use a train metaphor at all...

most likely the track switching one. Also, if you did this with cars, it be a fork in a road. The overcrowed and no conductor also sound plausible.

Actually its like a pack of mailmen trying desperatly get to all the houses (destinations), as many as possible, but cant get to all of them, and have to decide which ones to visit first, and if you work hard enough, and manage your time wisely, you get to more houses than you would if you slack off, or spend more quility time hanging out with neighbors on coffee break, but you still have to make a choice.

a train that would have to stop constantly because of all the annoying people wandering around on the tracks

If you mean reality, a very accomodating tour train.
If you mean how I often perceive my own life, late, switching, and could, often taking secret shortcuts or just sitting in the station.

I, personally, would probably not use a train analogy to sum up life in general. But of these, I think the train continuously switching tracks is the most apt.

Is...like...a train full of people about to derail (the train, not the people),or even better one of those trains they used to carry people to concentration camps.
But somehow there's someone playing an accordion in a beautiful way.Or someone remembered to take the cards and you can play with them.
Still is not so simple.
