| moonstone | posted 23-Jul-2003 11:44pm Elvis is more popular in death than in life only because he's been dead longer than he was popular alive. Does that even make sense? |
| Amanda | posted 23-Jul-2003 11:51pm Elvis is more popular in death than in life. When I was a waitress, late one night a man came in that looked just like Elvis. A little while later, I thought he had left because his table was empty. I was acting goofy that night, so in my best Elvis voice, I said "Ladies and gentlemen, Elvis has left the building." About that time, I saw the man coming back from the bathroom. I was so embarrassed!! Luckily, he had a good sense of humor and left me a good tip! |
| catwoman | posted 23-Jul-2003 11:59pm I don't like nor dislike him. I have no opinion one way or the other. |
| Maarten | posted 24-Jul-2003 7:47am Don't like his music at all. |
| Enheduanna | posted 24-Jul-2003 10:11am Of these, that he's as American as baseball and apple pie. |
| Galomorro | posted 24-Jul-2003 10:32am None. Don't care for Elvis. |
| Glassa | posted 24-Jul-2003 1:45pm Elvis is more popular in death than in life. |
| Dino | posted 24-Jul-2003 2:04pm None--I don't like Elvis, so it would be very hard for me to agree with any of these I'm sure gonna piss dabprovin and ElvisFan off for saying that! |
| ElvisFan67 | (reply to Dino) posted 24-Jul-2003 4:29pm Nah--you didn't p*** me off; everyone has a right to his or her own opinion. |
| darkshadowsseeker | posted 24-Jul-2003 7:22pm I didn't dislike Elvis, but I wasn't an Elvis fan either. |
| ElvisFan67 | (reply to Amanda) posted 24-Jul-2003 8:12pm If he could have afforded it, he might would have bought you a new car like Elvis would have! |
| mandy | posted 24-Jul-2003 9:31pm How about Elvis' daughter is wild and sexy? |
| ElvisFan67 | (reply to mandy) posted 24-Jul-2003 10:15pm Like father, like daughter, I suppose. |

| southernyankee | posted 25-Jul-2003 1:09am I dont really care for him. I think hes overrated, and 'rock and roll' (however you define it) would still be around if it werent for him. And no, we dont need a holiday for him, as if we didnt have enough useless one as it is, though there are a lot better ones that will never become. And I bet that I could come up with a few good example if I had ever been given the opportunity, not that I have. |
| kaleb777 | posted 25-Jul-2003 1:50pm Other - Elvis can't act and had no business doing movies. |
| dora | posted 25-Jul-2003 4:51pm I agree only with the American one. Elvis is okay, but he's not Eddie Cochran |
| ElvisFan67 | (reply to kaleb777) posted 25-Jul-2003 6:09pm I don't believe it was so much that Elvis couldn't act--he just never had the chance to prove himself as a serious actor like he had wanted to. Elvis himself often complained of this. He didn't want to keep doing goofy movies where he punched out a guy and then sang to him afterwards. But the songs, or soundtracks, from his movies are good. |
| kaleb777 | (reply to ElvisFan67) posted 26-Jul-2003 3:46am If you say so. |
| romkey | posted 27-Jul-2003 10:12am "Before Elvis, there was nothing!" - Miss Bitters "Elvis is a American as baseball and apple pie" - I love the irony in this... because, yeah, he's also as American as pill-popping and overeating... |
| romkey | (reply to kaleb777) posted 27-Jul-2003 10:13am not being able to act while being a big movie star is very American! |
| kaleb777 | (reply to romkey) posted 27-Jul-2003 3:51pm Yeah, Jeff Goldblum is a case in point. |
| OfTheSoul | posted 2-Aug-2003 8:38am Elvis has LEFT the BUILDING! |
| ElvisFan67 | (reply to moonstone) posted 3-Aug-2003 9:17pm Let's see--let's do the math. Elvis became a national superstar in 1956, which makes that 21 years until the year he died (1977). As of this year (2003), he's been dead for 26 years. So yep, you're right! I guess that's what popularity can do for some folks. |
| JohnDR666 | posted 10-Aug-2003 8:29pm Elvis kind of.....sucks |
