| romkey | posted 1-Jun-2003 9:48am north... that would probably be Manchester or Portmeiron in the UK, although I've been pretty much over the north pole in an airplane several times south... that would probably be Bali east... that would be Cairo west... that would be Beijing |
| romkey | (reply to dab) posted 1-Jun-2003 9:55am I believe that some points in the UK may be north of Whistler... I can't coax coordinates out of the stupid map I'm looking at. now that you mention it, the trip to Beijing went Boston - Shanghai - Beijing - London - Boston so I'm not sure how to count that |
| romkey | (reply to dab) posted 1-Jun-2003 10:05am ah... Manchester is at 53 deg 28 min N, Whistler is at 50 deg... Portmeiron is at 52 deg 54 min N... so Manchester is it for me, though I only stopped there for tea London is at 51 deg 30 min N, and I'm pretty sure you've been there... so that's further north than Whistler, though it doesn't seem that way. In fact, Amsterdam is at 52 deg 22 min N! |
| Enheduanna | (reply to romkey) posted 1-Jun-2003 11:25am Then London must be the furthest north I've been--I was wondering about that when I first answered, but I was too lazy to go look it up! Quebec City is around 46 deg N. |

| Zang | (reply to juliw) posted 2-Jun-2003 5:57pm So I've heard. I've never been off the west coast (in this hemisphere). I understand they get a lot of mileage out of "Anne Of Green Gables". |
| juliw | (reply to Zang) posted 2-Jun-2003 6:08pm That is why we went there. My mom's 5th grade teacher read "Anne Of Green Gables" to them, and she loved it. She has read it many times since then, and encouraged my sister and me to read it, as well. She told my dad she had always hoped to visit PEI someday, so we went. They even have the house the story was based on. |

| Zang | (reply to juliw) posted 3-Jun-2003 3:20pm Okay! I'm reminded of one of my humourous anecdotes. I read somewhere that every man should read at least one Harlequin romance. I attempted one once when I was a teenager, but didn't get too far. A few years ago, I found one and tried reading it. Again I gave up, and threw it behind my bedside table. Later, whilst reclining in post-coital embrace, my girlfriend found it and asked "So, is this what you read when you masturbate?" |

| Cleo | (reply to Richard47) posted 10-Jun-2003 12:50am Well, I live in Murrieta,California,(on the west west coast of the United States) & New York is on the (east coast) Sooooooooo, that would make Hawaii even more WEST than I live now. & if I still lived in Hawaii,a beach on the most farthest west point of the island (called Pray For Sex Beach) would be the farthest west I would have ever been. So yeah, depending on where your COMING from & going to, east could be west & vice versa. Colorado probably would be considered North East? Yeah, north east. Cause the only other place that I've gone to(besides Colorado)going east towards New York would be Las Vegas Nevada. Have you ever heard of a place called Four Corners? It's where the four states Utah,Colorado,Arizona & New Mexico meet. They say there's a spot where if you lay down, with your arms & legs spread out, you would be in all four states at once. |

Furthest south would be Bali and furthest north (on the ground) is Whistler, BC. I'm working on further north this summer though, with a three week canoe trip north of the arctic circle in the North West Territories, Canada.
