I haven't seen enough of the world to know. And I'm far too young to think in that much depth about retiring!!!

Somewhere green, with hills.......that's about as precise as I can be right now * smile *

The Daintree Rainforest, Queensland, Australia. I would build a house up on stilts surrounded by the rainforest.

Money isn't the issue for me. It is where would Sue be willing to follow me. She likes it here and I'm the sort that visits somewhere cool once and wants to move there. Our retirement is going to be very interesting! There may be crying and fistfights. * raspberry *

right where I live right now...

if I had to choose a different place, it's likely I'd choose somwhere in the southwest US, Bali or England...

it would have to be somwhere that lion wanted to be.

Good question! I think if I was going to retire, I'd want to move out of the city and into a more bucolic setting. "Any place in the world" made me consider a variety of exotic locales, but then I thought I wouldn't want to be so far away from my friends and family. My parents have a lovely place on Saltspring Island, not too far from here. I think that would be a nice place to retire. It seems to suit my folks alright.

Same city I live in now (San Francisco) but about 3 miles from my current apt., in a neighborhood of good views and expensive, well-kept-up older houses.

I've always been fascinated with Egypt since I was a kid - I really want to be an archaeologist or Egyptologist. That's my dream really.

I lived there for five years. I had to go to a class that we referred to as "Egypt Torture" It was really Egypt culture, when I was a kid. I am thankful for that now. I didn't appreciate it much when I was there.

Florence, Oregon...namely the Oregon Coast, but I probably wouldn't retire, but open a combo bed and breakfast and bookstore.

Here in New Orleans, where I've always lived. I'd buy a house on St. Charles Avenue and live like the Uptown rich people do.
