to see if it is clear...if it's not, then you're looking at a sinus infection, or other medical problem, and need to deal with it

absolutely, unless I'm pretty sure nothing came out

I casually examine many of my bodily byproducts. It's not something I think about a lot, but I think a certain degree of this behavior is advantageous in noticing health problems early (and that may be why we do it).

Gotta make sure you didn't blow straight through and spew on your hands

if it's green or yellow, you are probably getting sick. i check sometimes. Usually I'm checking for blood, because then I know I've been blowing my nose too hard or too often, and I should be nicer to my nose.

Alas, I do look, though I'm usually very discreet. My cube mate always looks and once the contents of her tissue fell on my desk. Very icky.

Wow! I never imagined that there might be people who don't look. How odd! Great survey!

I guess the question for the people that put 'No'... is this : Do you look at the toilet paper afterwards? :)... I always look... it's not all that gross to me... it came outta my body.

Pooh_Bear.. I used to work with a woman who would pick her nose constantly and try to use everyone else's office supplies.... You'd have to hide your pen from her...

Always! I can't help it. Today a blew a thick one with high surface tension, and found myself dissapointed that I couldn't show it to anyone- it was neat.

I see how full the tissue is. That was I can get as many blows in as I can. It's the least I can do to conserve out natural resources.

It lets me predict what the local weather conditions were like in the past hour. I'm an extremely accurate weather forecaster that way.

I have no idea why I do it, but I guess I never really thought about it before. I guess I'm making sure my nose isn't bleeding.

reality: It's more like being a political pundit where you get to make a declarative statement and then later on another declarative statement reversing the first, adding in for good measure "That's the way it always was."

Absolutely. That's how you find out if you're sick or not.. by the color of the snot inside.

I don't look to see if I'm sick.... I'm pretty good at telling when I'm sick from all the other more obvious symptoms... like, for instance, feeling sick.... I just look cuz I always have... dunno..

when you're sick, I've read that yellow means your body is fighting and mostly winning. green means your body is losing and it's time to see a doctor.
