This is a good question but the brain is not working at the moment. I'll try to get back with a question later.

Why aren't viruses seen in the fossil record? Is it just because they're too small to be found, or is there another reason?

Organisms?? Orgasms?? Both are different.I never experienced a male orgasm being female, but well I've been told they're quite different.I don't believe there's a god,but it's up to you to see if you want him to exist or not. There is no fixed answer. The other question I often wondered myself,I guess you do,but maybe you don't.

When you record your voice,it sounds slightly different from when you heard it without recording...I think the voice must sound to others the way it sounds to you on a tape...but maybe it doesn't.

I'll keep that in mind! I'm 14, and lord knows I want to lose it, and there's this girl in particular that I want to lose it with, but at the same time I'd feel sorta wrong sleeping with her when we're this young.

Yes.

I'm a recording fanatic since 2 or 3.And I don't mean music...that came only in my teen years...I mean that I like to record myself and I would love to record others...what they say,how they say it...the few conversations I managed to record were so amusing and interesting...I'm obsessed with the fact that words and discussions will be lost in time... * wry smile *

I listen to people on the bus,at school,wherever...I must look very nosey I suppose.Once I was so enchanted by two chinese girls talking in chinese that my friends had to drag me away. And didn't even get what they were saying, being in chinese...I just tried to get it from the expression, the tone...
ROCKMAN
(reply to dora) posted 18-Mar-2003 9:03pm
You ought to carry a mini recorder with you' then you could record whenever you wanted without anyone knowing. You could have recorded the Chinese girls then had it translated, that would be neat to find out later what they were saying, unless they were talking about you * laughing out loud *

I wonder what people are thinking a lot, or why they think the things they do, but never ask them. One thing I will always wonder, and cannot ask, because I dont know the woman... is Why was she shaking her head and tsking me in the Kmart bathroom as I changed my son's diaper. I wish I could go back in time and ask what the deal was. Does it seem strange to still wonder over 8 yrs after the fact? There are a lot of things I wonder about but cant remember right now.

1. As different as men and women are, I would say.
2. Yes
3. No, you look a lot more like what you see when you look at a videotape of yourself. Particularly if it is "candid" video. In the mirror, not only are you reversed (mirror image), but you also have a tendency to react to the mirror. You perform for it. It is a form of biofeedback loop.
Zang
(reply to dora) posted 21-Mar-2003 6:58am
Your voice sounds different to you because you hear it resonating in your head. Do your friends sound different on tape? Mine don't. I'm so used to the sound of my own voice on tape that it doesn't sound strange to me any more. I know what you mean though. I remember that. It was a long time ago.

Zang
(reply to sonikJ) posted 21-Mar-2003 7:06am
No. Race is primarily a word used to describe certain genetic traits which tended historically to be found in certain geographical areas. It is highly unlikely that any of those traits will ever be eliminated completely. What is more likely is that combinations of traits that might be rare now, will become more common in the future.
Zang

Put me on the spot, why don't you? * raspberry *

I would say that you're pretty much correct. Race is just a more politically correct way of talking about breeds - without controlled interbreeding, there will never be an even mix of genes in all populations which is what would be necessary before you could really talk about a single race. That's what I would think anyway * smile *

Monkeeeeeee was hacked in by a clever SC user who was confronted with the duty of assigning a miscellaneous survey. Bill liked it, and left it as a category. It is used for silly/non-serious surveys. I suspect the name was inspired by Mandy's monkey obsession, which was quite prevalent at the time.

I'm not too sure about the specifics of the definition. That sounds a little human-centric though if you ask me. That's how we'd talk about types of pea that we're breeding for our own purposes, rather than breeds controlled by evolution. I'll see if I can find anything about it in one of my million books I've brought home to read over Easter * smile *

Right now I'm trying to remember a song. I've had the video for it running in my head for a few days and it's really irritating me! I don't recall many of the words though, except I think that "fire fire" may have featured quite a lot. The video had a man and a very scary woman dressed in leather. Bits of their anatomies kept lighting up. They were in an old fashioned setting with old portraits on the wall and these portraits were on fire at the end of the video. There may have been a bit that went "Why do we keep setting ourselves [things?] on fire?" but my memory really isn't too good when it comes to the words....It was supposed to have been quite a big thing a few months back so maybe someone here remembers it. It's really annoying me!!!!
