| milktree | posted 30-Dec-1998 1:02am maybe the word for '90s is "honey mustard", or perhaps "rasberry vinagrette" |
| magbast | posted 30-Dec-1998 1:55am mmmmm...iceberg lettuce w/ onions, egg, tons of cheese, bacon bits, raisins (occasionally), and covered in thousand islands dressing. PERFECT! |
| Mimi | posted 30-Dec-1998 8:29am Salad is a lot like pizza. Just add everything to it & I'm generally quite happy. But please, put the dressing on the side. Thank you. |

| jjg | posted 30-Dec-1998 9:23am The perfect salad is composed of iceberg lettuce, sliced tomatoes, carrots, cucumbers, onions, and broccoli. No dressing or oils. |
| lisashea | posted 30-Dec-1998 1:35pm My favorite is sliced cucumbers over lettuce with a soy sauce-ginger marinade. |
| pandora | posted 30-Dec-1998 2:05pm mmm. This makes me hungry, although I absolutely despise baby corn and water chestnuts. I'm not sure I've ever had arugula, but I like the name a lot. And radicchio reminds me of Rapunzel. |
| steve | posted 30-Dec-1998 3:37pm Onions only if they're red, Vidalia, or otherwise a little more mild than regular yellow or white onions. The more of my choices are all together in one bowl, the better I like it. |
| Jody | posted 31-Dec-1998 9:34am And chick peas! Great survey! |
| lizzie | posted 31-Dec-1998 1:41pm I like a pretty basic salad: iceberg lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes (cherry or slices), onions, carrots, and croutons. I like my dressing on the side, and I prefer Italian or the like. I really dislike those other 'greens' that get put into salads...they all taste like grass. Yuck. |
| traciy | posted 1-Jan-1999 3:55pm salad is what food eats. |
| they | posted 1-Jan-1999 6:47pm I don't like Romaine lettuce... the veins or whatever you'd call them... ick. |
| eris | posted 5-Jan-1999 6:41pm Leaf lettuce (red or green), olives. |
| caseyb | posted 7-Jan-1999 11:20pm what about tomato dressings? like french, catalina, or 1000 island? and ground pepper? what salad bar have you been grazing at? you are getting totally ripped off! |
| lelle | posted 8-Jan-1999 1:09am radishes, peas, cabbage, corn come to mind straightaway as additions to the list. |
| anonymous | posted 8-Jan-1999 1:44am lelle: Gad, at first I thought you were describing your ideal salad. A salad of radishes, peas, cabbage and corn! |
| lelle | posted 8-Jan-1999 11:30am anon: sounds good to me! especially if you add carrots and cucumbers. |
| hunter | posted 8-Jan-1999 3:17pm caseyb, I think of french & thousand island as being creamy, as opposed to vinegar. Catalina I'm unfamiliar with, unless it's that stuff that looks like sweet & sour sauce I've never had the guts to try. |
| Gamera | posted 13-Jan-1999 12:31pm awww, damn! now you have me wicked craving a good salad! |
| drdt | posted 11-Mar-1999 5:37pm Avocado? |

| clare | posted 5-Aug-2006 11:26pm Red leaf, green leaf and butter lettuce and grape tomatoes topped with Thousand Island dressing. |
