| Biggles | posted 3-Feb-2003 8:41am I didn't see it so I didn't notice that. I don't find it especially strange though. BTW, I know what the superbowl is, I know who Celine Dion is, I know that she's Canadian. Never heard God Bless America that I recall though. That's not teh national anthem right? I've heard that, but if I remember rightly that's the one that goes oh say can you see, or something like that..... |
| ROCKMAN | posted 3-Feb-2003 9:37am I didn't know where she was from, and it didn't cross my mind. |
| Matt | posted 3-Feb-2003 9:42am She lives in Jupiter Florida most of the year. |
| Enheduanna | posted 3-Feb-2003 10:19am I didn't watch the Superbowl. I don't care. |
| Iseult | posted 3-Feb-2003 11:51am I haven't heard of it until now. |
| cody | posted 3-Feb-2003 1:12pm Haha! Yeah, really, what the fudge is up with that?? I didn't notice because I don't own a tv and didn't watch the superbowl and don't know who played (and more importantly don't give a fudge), but, the absurdity of the situation does not escape me. Typical American corporatism though. |
| Zang | posted 3-Feb-2003 1:18pm I didn't watch the Superbowl this year. I heard that she sang, but until now, I didn't know that she sang that song. This certainly isn't the first time that someone sang a patriotic song at a sporting event, which wasn't appropriate to their nationality. It happens all the time. Usually it gets everyone's attention when they flub the lyrics. I take it that didn't happen this time. |
| darkshadowsseeker | posted 3-Feb-2003 2:13pm I thought is was an extremely strange choice and I even said so to my son who agrees with me. I can't abide her voice anyway and muted the T.V. until she was done singing. If they were going to get a non-American to sing "God Bless America," then why didn't they get someone with a decent voice like Charlotte Church or Annie Lennox? |
| southernyankee | posted 3-Feb-2003 2:54pm nope, i havent thought about it, havent noticed |

| lily333 | posted 3-Feb-2003 6:15pm I didn't watch the Superbowl and I didn't know she sang. But yes I do think it's a little odd. |
| juliw | posted 3-Feb-2003 8:09pm I thought it was weird, too. |
| Kristal_Rose | posted 3-Feb-2003 9:54pm Pretty darn close to "What is the Superbowl?" and "Who is Celine Dion?". |
| Kristal_Rose | (reply to darkshadowsseeker) posted 3-Feb-2003 9:55pm ..Now those two I am familiar with. Good tastes. |
| mandy | posted 3-Feb-2003 11:12pm I don't ever watch the stupidbowl |
| Galomorro | posted 4-Feb-2003 11:17am I don't care. But I didn't watch any part of the Superbowl anyway and did not know anyone sang anything. |
| starrpickle | posted 4-Feb-2003 1:07pm i did'nt think of it at the time all i could think of was she does'nt drive a Chrysler minivan |

| scrubnurse | posted 5-Feb-2003 1:22am I didn't watch or know she sang, but I guess it is a little odd. If I did watch, I probably would have gone to the kitchen or somewhere while she was singing. ahem. |
| Dino | posted 5-Feb-2003 7:48am I'm just horrified that Celine Dion is allowed out at all to sing in front of people. Its shocking - really shocking. |

| mrnemo15 | posted 19-Feb-2003 6:17pm I didn't know that! that's pretty neat. (how do we vote on surveys that are trying to get approval? I just submitted one, and I don't know where to go to check on it, or to vote on others' surveys.) |
| MssAmericat | posted 24-Feb-2003 1:36am Here's my two "sense"... I think Celine has a lovely voice also like Charlotte Church & Annie Lennox...I don't watch many sports so didn't know this but sometimes I think they have a non American as an honour thing maybe...to me it really isn't that important as an American to make a big issue out of it...a lot of other bigger fish needing to be fried. |
| MssAmericat | (reply to Biggles) posted 24-Feb-2003 1:36am Hey Biggles...The Star Spangled Banner is the anthem...on that and God Bless America if you were interested just do a search for the lyrics...take care! |
| Weed | posted 23-Mar-2006 7:40am I couldn't care less how sung. It might as well of been me, with my great voice. |
