| darkshadowsseeker | posted 5-Feb-2003 8:48pm I live with a roommate and my son (who lives elsewhere) doesn't dine out with me on a weekly basis. This needed an "I don't know" or "Other" option for situations like mine. |
| jettles | posted 5-Feb-2003 9:25pm maybe 50-60 dollars some weeks and others 0. depends. i go out more than my partner. it is just the two of us. i am 43 and female. |
| Biggles | posted 5-Feb-2003 9:45pm I'm female, 19, I *am* a daughter away at university but when I'm at home there are 5 of us, and we never eat out. I don't believe I've ever been out for a meal with my family in my entire life. So, $0. |
| Iseult | posted 5-Feb-2003 9:46pm Like zero dollars. I don't know, I hate dining out. I generally dislike to eat whilst having strangers around me. |
| Iseult | (reply to darkshadowsseeker) posted 5-Feb-2003 9:47pm I agree with you about those options. |
| darkshadowsseeker | (reply to Iseult) posted 5-Feb-2003 9:57pm Thanks! |
| Enheduanna | posted 5-Feb-2003 10:17pm F, 29, single, 0-10 USD/week, on average. |
| HeinD70 | (reply to darkshadowsseeker) posted 5-Feb-2003 11:23pm I agree on the options, someone wasn't doing their job during the qual. (Just Kidding. My Fault) |
| kaleb777 | posted 6-Feb-2003 12:11am Why do people take the lazy option when doing surveys for school? Grab a clip-board and hit the mall! I rarely "dine out". I buy take-away food and eat it at home. I might grab a subway before I see a movie. |
| anoddoblivion | posted 6-Feb-2003 12:29am 0-10, my answer being zero. In fact, I don't ever dine out with my family, even when I'm home from college. |
| Dino | posted 6-Feb-2003 7:12am I don't dine out. Unless I'm in a rush or out and about and pop into a local greasy spoon or McD's |
| Cain | posted 6-Feb-2003 8:11am $8 a week. My friend and I go to the pancake place every week and I always have the same thing. |
| Maarten | posted 6-Feb-2003 9:16am When we still lived in Amsterdam we went out for dinner about 3, 4 times a week, spending about US $100,- Now we live in this little village where there is not much choice. Chinese, Japanese, Greek and fish. That's about it. We only went out once in the last 4 weeks. |
| Enheduanna | (reply to Maarten) posted 6-Feb-2003 9:21am I didn't realize you'd moved out of Amsterdam. How far from it are you living now? Why did you move to this particular little village? |
| Maarten | (reply to Enheduanna) posted 6-Feb-2003 9:56am About 30 kms. Mireille is from that village (IJmuiden). We live close to the beach and a nature park so it's great for our dog. I really have to get used again living in a small village. Shops close at about 17h30 - 18h00. Only 2 supermarkets are open till 20h00 and that's it! |
| TeddyMiller | posted 6-Feb-2003 10:34am Counting only dinners, not buying lunch out, about $10 to $20. I'm male, 44, and eat dinner out by myself about once a week. |
| darkshadowsseeker | (reply to HeinD70) posted 6-Feb-2003 1:05pm Thanks for understanding. |
| Enheduanna | (reply to Maarten) posted 6-Feb-2003 6:27pm That's quite a change! Sounds nice, though. Do you work in Amsterdam? |
| lily333 | posted 6-Feb-2003 8:42pm 21-30 US dollars. There are 3 of us, 2 adults and 1 teenage girl. I cook most meals during the week but I like to treat myself once a week and since my husband will rarely go ANYWHERE it usually has to be takeout. |
| DeeDee17 | posted 6-Feb-2003 10:10pm My family rarely ever eats out. We go to taco Bell maybe once a month. |
| Maarten | (reply to Enheduanna) posted 7-Feb-2003 6:15am Yes, we both still work in Amsterdam. We take this fast boat (picture here), which brings us in 25 minutes to Amsterdam. |
| Maarten | (reply to Enheduanna) posted 7-Feb-2003 6:21am Oops... and now a real picture:

| ROCKMAN | posted 7-Feb-2003 7:48am I'm single male 40 and on the avg. I spend 20 to 30$ a week out sometimes alot more though, even upto 100 bucks on one night eating out. |
| Enheduanna | (reply to Maarten) posted 7-Feb-2003 10:23am What kind of boat is that?! It looks kind of like a hydrofoil, but I didn't think hydrofoils had legs. |
| Maarten | (reply to Enheduanna) posted 7-Feb-2003 11:20am I don't know the English word, but we call it a 'carry wing boat'. It lifts itself out of the water, and reaches speeds up to 70 km/h. |
| mandy | (reply to Enheduanna) posted 7-Feb-2003 2:34pm It looks like some type of Hovercraft. Cool as HELL! I want to ride on it. |
| Enheduanna | (reply to Maarten) posted 7-Feb-2003 3:35pm I'll just call it "Funky-Ass Dutch Boat." |
| Enheduanna | (reply to mandy) posted 7-Feb-2003 3:36pm *looks around for dab* He'll know what it's called! |
| Zang | posted 7-Feb-2003 4:08pm Based on last month's credit card bill, $23.46 US. I am a 40 year-old single male. Although I don't often dine out with my family, the above amount would represent myself and one friend, typically. |
| romkey | (reply to Enheduanna) posted 7-Feb-2003 5:10pm "The Magic Christian" |
| Enheduanna | (reply to romkey) posted 7-Feb-2003 5:28pm Nuh uh!!! |
| Maarten | (reply to Enheduanna) posted 7-Feb-2003 6:36pm Yep, thatīs exactly what I meant! |
| Matt | posted 9-Feb-2003 6:37pm I dine out far too much. |
| sonikJ | posted 11-Feb-2003 10:26am Usually we only eat out once, and for the three of us it's between $20 and $30. |
| Yarbroughhunter | posted 26-Feb-2003 3:56am We don't usually eat out. |
| linny21 | posted 8-Mar-2003 7:40pm Less than $10...we cook at home. Food is so much better homemade. |
| eloradanan | posted 29-May-2006 3:06am I live alone & I don't dine out on a weekly basis. The last time I dined out with a family member was with my mother when I took her out for Mother's Day. |
| clare | posted 1-Aug-2006 11:56pm I don't eat out on a weekly basis. It would be more like once a month or every other month to me because there aren't a lot of restaurants to choose from where I live, except for fast food places. I don't care for fast food. As to eating out with my family, twice a year at most. |
