No, if you go to statistics and see the username with the most popular survey. That's not really accurate of course in that it doesn't give a true figure as such. But its as good as it gets and we should leave it at that. I hardly look at them stats anyway.

I think that would be silly, pointless and could get unpleasant. |

nope, we shouldn't!! |

absolutely not. People seem to have calmed down about the ratings, finally. I'd hate to see SC turn into a big popularity contest. |

1. Anything that is going to make more work for bill doesn't sit well with me. I'm assuming a photo will have to be posted in the upper right corner of each page.
2. This reminds me an awful lot of the "employee of the month" routine that so many minimum wage employers try to use to motivate employees without actually paying them more. I've noticed that at Denny's restaurants in California, they at least have a "employee of the month" parking spot. Most places, they just get their picture on the wall. |

I am strongly opposed to this idea. |

This is a wonderful idea. |

Okay, I am new here, but if you are saying make a survey of the nominations as in a list of peoples names and then vote for one, I would have to say I do 'not' think that is a good idea. 'That' would be nothing but a popularity contest and it doesn't seem like a good idea to me. I could be wrong. I'm new. I do more reading than answering at the moment so it would be very difficult to pick out the 'best' comments. As far as 'best' surveys, do they not already carry ratings? Do they not show up if you click say, Best Active for example? Is there not also a page with all that information on it? Again, I am new, so I don't know a lot. Someone clue me in please because right now, I don't think this is something I would participate in. (or be qualified to do really). Well, wait just a minute! I guess you could still do it, huh? Just if you don't want to participate, don't. Including nominations even, if you don't want to be nominated you could decline. Yea, I guess you 'could' do it, but I don't think I would participate in that and also not sure it would go over like you might think. I don't know. |

no, this does not sound like a very good idea.
maybe a best survey of the month, or the most offensive survey award, the most creative, the most eh, whatever, you get the point.
but leave people out of it, i dont think this is a good idea. |

No. I am sure many of us have our favorites, and I really don't anyone to be singled out or have their feelings hurt. |

Only because you'd get bored of winning every month! |

No, I don't think so, but what the hell do I know.
I don't know! |

Sure, but I'm just going to repeatedly cast my vote for Bill. |

now now..... |

But you would! No-one would dare vote for anyone else - we'd be too scared |

I created this survey to see what people thought about the popularity issue here on SC. I do feel that certain people here are always commenting and letting us in on their personal lives, which I think is great. Then there are the people who create surveys, answer surveys, and leave it at that, which is also fine. They just don't ever get known here and maybe that's what they want. I just wanted to get a general opinion. Thanks for everyone's input and I now know that we are pretty satisfied with knowing each other to whichever degree makes us comfortable and leaving it at that. I was hoping there would be a "no" majority on this topic anyway. |

What a sweet idea...I think this is a nice way to show a fellow SCer that they are appreciated....well that was my first thought until I read other comments and then went back and read the survey again...I liked the first part about nominating someone who has been there for others but not for who makes the better comment or survey. |
