How has the Internet changed your life?

I have made a lot of friends at Survey Central; I get to play games, chat with friends, and look up stuff on the Internet. I love the Internet!

It helps me to communicate with people.I have met (some online some offline as well) people I couldn't have meet otherwise,I can make my music more known not to mention that I have always found easier to write than to talk so if I can type instead of talk is better.
Well really there are times when I talk a LOT,but only with some people I already know or I like very much,on the Net instead I seem to go on very long rantings all the time!
And it's easier to select those you want to communicate with,like you can find people with your same interests than in real life you wouldn't have the chance to meet.

I can find out more than I knew before.

It has completely replaced television as a leisure time activity. It has allowed me to communicate and share my music with people all over the world, without leaving my home or having to deal with those scum bags in the music industry. Of course, it is also a great source of pornographic images! We can't forget that!

It's allowed me to access information online quickly and easily. It lets me stay in touch with friends and family. I'm able to communicate with people that otherwise I would never have the opportunity to meet.

just made researching scams and stuff better, get a low down on information. i dont say gee i got a lip fungus and look up lip fungus and cure myself ..i use it as a means of information... then make a educated decision on how to treat it or get treatment.

I communicate more but see people less.
I do vastly more research on arts and sciences and such.
Photos don't require mail.
I stay up way late now.

The Internet is one of the coolest things that has ever happened to me and the world. It has helped me to communicate with a lot more people and learn a lot more stuff than I ordinarily would since I am by nature an extreme introvert. I have found that I can express myself over the Internet much better than I can in person or over the fone. It's a huge encyclopedia and entertainment system at your fingertips with discussion groups for every interest. Not to mention some good survey sites to join.

The company I work for is an Internet Café chain so without that I wouldn't have my job.

Also I have met you lot on SC and you are all quite wonderful. They say that everyone you 'meet' touches your life in some way and so I guess it would be arrogant of me to say that SC has not affected my life or opinions in some shape or form.

Also I have met some people in real life and gone on events that I probably would never have met had the internet not existed.

Well, it's definitely increased the number of ways I can find to waste time. It's also resulted in me generally being better informed; it probably saves me a lot of time, too.

It's given me an easy way to take a break halfway through a revision session. It can be a bit of a distraction sometimes....

Amongst other things, it's been my career since I entered college.

Its opened a world of knowledge for me - there has never been a topic where I have not been able to find a wealth of information on the internet (apart from the biological basis of false memories).

I have friends all over the world, some I have visited, some I have yet to visit.

Because of the internet I got the opportunity to work ni a different part of the world and broaden my life with the experience.

And best of all, there is Survey Central, where I can come and wile away many hours without feeling too guilty about the fact I should be doing revision.

It englightened me.

a lot. i now know how to get virtually any information i want. i can download stuff, and meet people living in different states and countries without actually meeting them.

It's given me friends such as Cleo and Julie, who though miles from me, are still my friends.

I shop on line looking for the cheapest price. I pay bills on line, have hooked up new phone numbers, sent letters, re-enrolled for university, studied, researched, argued with lecturers, talked to people all over the world for the price of a 15c local call. I've listened to music I would have never bought, and downloaded songs I have been looking for but which were out of production. I've also seen several celebrities nude.

BTW, the W sound in Greek is the 6th letter, so that would make WWW = to 666.

What?! There is no w sound in Greek. The 6th letter of the Greek alphabet is zeta, which is pronounced like -dz-.

I remember hearing a similar story (or urban legend) with Hebrew... like 666 in Hebrews is WWW,but I don't know if it's true.I don't know Hebrew so...I can't tell.

Vav is the closest to W in hebrew, also the 6th letter, associated with The Heirophant / Pope card in the Tarot. WWW also looks like World War something. 777 would be Cheth-Cheth-Cheth (the chariot).

I wouldn't say vet is a separate letter. It would be like saying the letter c in English is two (or even three) different letters because it's pronounced /k/ and /s/, and sometimes /ch/. But I don't know how kabbalists and the like count these things. (Although as far as I know, it's usually one letter.)

I'm used to the simpler alphabet (22 letters) in metaphysical books. I only recently picked up a grade school hebrew language primer which distinguishes the letters, and made a conclusion that that is how it is organized these days. But then I may have assumed too much. This primer may be the english equivalent of learning with phonics.

Enheduanna was right. I spaced out. 777 would be Zayin-Zayin-Zayin. Zayin in the Tarot is the lovers card which represents choices, the prospect of free-will and autonomy in a previously non-autonomous environment. Three sevens is 21 or the judgement card, definitely a prominent archetype in your character.

That's weird. I thought as I was reading your explanation that those three numbers are really me.

The cards can represent tendencies and such, like an archetypal ingredient list, but i think of them as a path, and that eventually we work our way through all of them.
I too saw the 777 relating to you, but as sceptics will point out, people will take on any generality. It sure fits more than half of them would though.

Yeah, I've seen some of those books, too, and it does sometimes look like they're teaching the letter with dagesh (bet vs. vet) as a separate letter. I'm not sure to what extent most teachers would stress that; it is also a modern Hebrew thing, not an ancient Hebrew thing.

Got published, got a job (that resulted in my moving to a different country), found my apartment, met several of my best friends and my girlfriend ... so no, it hasn't changed my life much. :P

I could imagine anything but an air sign from you. You get too riley for a cancer or piscies, which leaves scorpio the more manic-depressive of the signs, switching from agressive to broody.

Piscies can be moody, and Cancers get cranky and have to retreat to solitude on a regular basis.

I met my "One" on the internet! So it has drastically changed my life! However since we are now in a very long distance relationship it has not necassarily changed it for the better!

Well, I sit up late at night typing in the dark now.

Well, I live in a small town right now & I didn't have anyone to talk to about books and records. It really fills that need, to share like that. I've learned a lot about my medications & medical issues. I've been able to buy gifts for people I never would have been able to find. And other stuff.

In countless ways. Through the internet I can rent movies (Nelflix) which is a real boon when you live in a smallish town and the only video store is Blockbuster. I can buy flea medication for my cat online at PetMeds and get it cheaper than from the vet. I can research to my heart's content and interact with people all over the globe. I can send and receive letters without having to dig out a postage stamp. I can pay bills without leaving the comfort of my home.
