| darkshadowsseeker | posted 6-Jan-2003 1:29pm I have a autograph book from when I was young that has autographs of Kirk Douglas, Sally Field and Mark Metcalf (Animal House). I got the first two when I was on vacation with my family back in the 1960's and we passed by were they were filming "The Way West" (which was filmed in Oregon). They were setting up the scene where the covered wagons are to be ferried across the river and they allowed the kids (no adults) to come down and get autographs while the shot was being set up. I got Mark Metcalf's autograph while he was in Eugene, Oregon shooting "Animal House". He was the only one I could get close enough to to get an autograph. I wanted to get Tom Hulce's and Tim Matheson's, but couldn't get close enough and we were told to stay away from John Belushi. My sister has R.Lee Ermey and Jared Leto's autographs from when they were filming "Prefontaine". She was one of the extras in the bleachers. |
| Jemmy | posted 6-Jan-2003 4:22pm I have a yearbook signed by all my friends. And a playbill thing signed by the dude who played Gaston in Beauty and the Beast. Me and my friends ran across the street to get his autograph and picture. |

| msgman | posted 7-Jan-2003 5:03pm I've got quite a lot of signed books, but that's because I used to work in the book trade so I tended to pick them up regularly at bookseller conventions. None of them are by anyone particularly famous, though - the most famous author I've got a book signed by is the Archbishop of Canterbury. |

Here's a very brief excerpt:
I stow the sail, unship the mast:
I wooed you long but my wooing's past;
My paddle will lull you into rest.
O! drowsy wind of the drowsy west,
Sleep, sleep,
By your mountain steep,
Or down where the prairie grasses sweep!
Now fold in slumber your laggard wings,
For soft is the song my paddle sings.
