No. I don't think the first of the year is any better than any other time of the year for making resolutions and goals. If you know you need to do something or work on something, you should resolve right then and there to do it. If there's nothing you know of that you haven't resolved, there's no need to force yourself to think of something just because it's the beginning of a new year.

To go swimming more - at least twice a week. I haven't been for two months. So lazy.

I never used to do this. I did it for 2000 and 2001. I didn't do so well, so I gave it up...

i wouldn't call them resolutions....but tis simply the act and art of practicing my personal beliefs in a way that is in tune w/ my family and the universe

Yes, I am going to be a lot more positive. No complaining, no gossip, no badmouthing anyone. I will be happier, and that happiness will radiate to those around me!

One year (after many failed resolutions) I resolved never to make a resolution again! So far, it is the only one I have stuck to. Lent is hard enough as it is without having a year-long (forever) resolution!

1. Maintain a “B” average in every class at school.
2. Teach T.J. to tie his shoes before August.
3. Be a better housekeeper (and wife/mom)
4. Read to T.J. at least once a day.
5. Start a vitamin regimen for the whole family.
6. Set aside one hour of study time each day.
7. Attempt to get all of us in church together on a regular basis.
8. Stop or cut down on swearing.
9. Grow my hair out at least to my shoulders.
10. Stop or cut way back on smoking.

#2 I think it's better for people to tackle problems or faults as they come up rather than making a set of resolutions once a year.
