I'm guessing Boston, although it could be Raleigh or Detroit. South America is pretty far east (I think Chile is one time-zone east of Boston!), but I'm not sure about Ecuador specifically.

Not looking at an atlas, I know Central America sort of curls down to the east under the US, and that Equador is back west a bit. I'm guessing somewhere in the mid west. Denver?
