Breakfast Club (again) on television. One of my all time favorite movies! |

I can name several. Spider-Man, Insomnia, Attack of the Clones, Full Frontal, and Bowling For Columbine. And just this past Friday I was a mere THIRD in line for Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. And with Nemesis and Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers opening in the next month this is going to be a banner year indeed. |

Signs. I really, really enjoyed it. Especially since I seemed to have seen nothing but duff films since LotR. I think I liked it more than The Sixth Sense and definitely a *lot* more than Unbreakable. |
| Biggles |
Does that have Debra Messing in it? Pre or post having her nose chopped off? |

Amelie was great. I really enjoyed Ginger Snaps. My Big Fat Greek Wedding was a very nice surprise. And I loved Goldmember |

and Biggles: Amelie was made by some of the same folks as City of Lost Children and Delicatessen. |

I really liked Signs up until the last twenty minutes or so... they really ruined the film for me |

I also really enjoyed Reign of Fire (I know, it sucked but I liked it anyway) and Minority Report... |

I haven't seen either of those... |

If I had to pick just one, it would be "The Bourne Identity".
But if I could pick more, I would pick that one, Scooby Doo, Showtime, and Spirit:Stallion of the Cimmaron. Yeah, great movies. |

In the theater, it would be "Minority Report". On video, I've recently developed a taste for Jackie Chan movies. "First Strike" was a particularly good one. |

I agree that there was something about that bit that was rather hollow. Although I did like the way all the "signs" fell into place right at the very end. And the way the reaffirmation of his faith was handled was good - you could believe either that it was just random chance or that there really was someone out looking out for him. |

I saw Bridget Jones - a little late but I liked it. I also like Moulin Rouge too. |

Fantastic film. When I came out of the pictures I had a little bounce in my step and everything seemed in technicolour. Plus I was looking at all the passers-by and felt really loved-up towards them. |
Enheduanna | | (reply to Biggles) posted 19-Nov-2002 9:26am |
Well, that makes much more sense! |
Enheduanna | | (reply to Dino) posted 19-Nov-2002 9:31am |
I watched it the night before I took my Bible comprehensive exam, and it was exactly what I needed to de-stress. I just got a copy of it on DVD for my birthday! There's a second DVD in the box, but I haven't checked to see what's on it yet. A friend of mine said when he went to see it he came out of the theater when it ended, went back over to the ticket counter, and bought a ticket for the next showing. |
romkey | | (reply to Biggles) posted 19-Nov-2002 11:54am |
maybe that's why I didn't like it - it seemed too contrived to me... but then I don't believe |

Glory (special edition DVD). Possibly one of the best Civil War movies ever. Excellent performances by Denzel Washington, Morgan Freeman and Matthew Broderick. Highly recommended! |

I saw Harry Potter on friday night too. How did you like it? I thought it was amazing, I just love the actors in it. |
Frostbrand | | (reply to Jemmy) posted 19-Nov-2002 4:24pm |
I thought it was great, though I must admit to feeling a little sad during all the Dumbledore scenes. How can they POSSIBLY find someone who can play the noble Professor after Richard Harris? |
romkey |
perhaps it's time for a CGI Richard Harris... |

Manhunter, the original film based on 'Red Dragon' by Thomas Harris. I haven't seen the new one yet. |
Frostbrand | | (reply to romkey) posted 20-Nov-2002 2:44pm |
Nah, it just wouldn't be the same. |
| Jemmy |
Oh my god, I thought that too. During his seens, I couldn't help but think how irreplacable he is. They have such a great cast, I just love everyone. Hagris would also be hard to replace if something were to happen. And I am so scared that Rupert Grint will grow out of his role, because I absolutely love him as Ron. I think he's such a cutie, and has such comedic acting talent. The movie (and the books, even more of course) make me want to be a wizard so I can go to Hogwarts and be their friend! |
Frostbrand | | (reply to Jemmy) posted 21-Nov-2002 4:45pm |
Coltrane says he'll only play Hagrid up to to The Goblet of Fire. So far only Grint (Ron Weasley) and Maggie Smith (McGonagall) have expressed interest in continuing their roles PAST the 4th one. |
| spidertea | | (reply to Biggles) posted 21-Nov-2002 6:00pm |
I didn't even know she did sci-fi! And I call myself a celebrity know it all! |
| Biggles | | (reply to spidertea) posted 22-Nov-2002 6:32am |
Back in her pre-minor-celebrity days. 13 episodes of Prey before it got cancelled. Then she lost her nose and started getting more work! I thought it looked better before - it was a real nose! |
| Jemmy |
The fourth one is such a long ways away though, who knows what could heppen by then? It should be interesting to see how they approach the Goblet of Fire, since it is so long and full of adventure. |
Frostbrand | | (reply to Jemmy) posted 22-Nov-2002 4:09pm |
Rumor has it they'll split it into two moives, then perhaps skip books 5 and 6 and go straight to 7 where they (probably) kill Voldemort. |
| Jemmy |
That would suck. I want movies for all of them. I want all the books to come out soon too. I love Harry Potter, I just can't get enough of it. I want to re-read the fourth book soon, but I have to finish 1984 and Much Ado About Nothing first. |
