Russia is the one I want to visit the most. It appeals for reasons I can't put my finger on.

I think that Japan is really cool.
Also, I have that little obsession with Scotland and kilts.

Switzerland - very pretty and very neutral historically. It is also the home of my hero - Psychoanalyst Carl Gustav Jung.

Not at all. Not that I know of anyway and I've traced several lines on my family back several hundred years. I think something about the East meeting the West appeals.

Several hundred?? That is soo cool.. It would be near impossible for me to do that.. Our recorded family history only begins when everyone came to the states.

Jung... he had that theory about people and their psyche. Right? How we are made all of different bits.
Dino
(reply to Iseult) posted 30-Oct-2002 3:58pm

Yes, like how we have an inner male/female etc. What's your inner male called? No, its okay I don't think they have names - maybe?????

He brought into discussion introvert/extrovert as well. How introvert re-charge their batteries by being alone and extroverts re-charge by being around people.

He was lovely for many many reasons.

The only foreign countries I have visited are Mexico (Cancun) and Canada (Niagara Falls, St.Catherine's, Toronto, Hamilton, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island). I liked all of them. There are many other countries I would like to visit. I would also like to see more of the US (where I live) and more parts of Canada(Quebec, Vancouver, Montreal, Edmonton)

Brazil and Portugal. Heavy, long-time, hard-to-explain deep love for these two countries. Past lives? Seems so. Love the people, the music, Lisbon and Rio, the food, culture, language... etc,

Israel. It's the holy land, God's chosen land. Well, it was then. It's rich history and role in christianity is really cool. It might be in turmoil and war stricken now, but like I said, the history and christianity.

How is it there? Is everything modernized?
TeddyMiller Survey Central Gold Subscriber
(reply to Iseult) posted 4-Nov-2002 4:13pm

I thought there was a nice mix of modern with historic or exotic stuff. There'd be the good subways and neon lights and all the high tech, then a Shinto shrine between the high-rise buildings, or traffic lights playing birdsong so you can hear when they change, or little sculpted birds on an otherwise utilitarian metal railing.

Animus/Anima maybe? or are you talking about them having names like mine has a name, and Iseult's another?

I like Jung a lot too,but I don't know much.Need to read more. The thing about not being 100% male or female is something I say a lot, because is really correct from my poin of view. His theory on personality also is good.I like the way he accepts everybody as useful and worthy, instead of setting ONE standard like Freud.(Freud standard was what Freud dreamt to be but couldn't *wink* )If you have balance in yourself, you are balanced and sane, and adaptable and everything you need to be,but if you're not in harmony with yourself then you can't be with others.Compare this with the old fashioned Freud approach (which I respect a lot,but he's not my thing)or the nazi-like behaviourism approach...Jung... he's the MAN! *smile*
