Boots...

Thank you survey creator for reminding me...I need to buy some new boots.

I have one pair of boots. Bass brand in the workboot style with thinsulate. I've had them for four years and I reasonably expect to have them for at least another four. And they only cost me $30.

I have a pair of black suede, steel-toed work boots that I adore. I have a pair of 4" spike romeos. I have a a pair of black flat lace-ups and a pair of black lace-ups with a little heel. I have a pair of Reebok hiking boots I bought on Fishermen's Wharf on my first visit to San Francisco as an adult. I have a pair of beige suede boots. I have a pair of white brocade heeled boots with ribbon laces that I might wear for my wedding. I used to wear shoe-boots (those things that look like cowboy boots without the pipe part) a lot, but I haven't found any I liked in a while. I had a great pair of cowboy boots I wore for a couple of years, but the soles died and I was too lame to have them re-soled. I like boots, but mostly I just like shoes in general.

I wear boots often in the winter and seldom in the summer.

I wear boots nearly every day. I think the last time I wore something other than boots (not counting my mostly indoor sandals) was in September. Oddly enough, I wasn't wearing my usual boots today as they were at the cobbler's.

I rarely used to wear boots until I found a great pair of cowboy boots that are very comfortable. Now I wear them quite a lot, but mostly that one pair.

I play D&D a lot and always wondered about those 'high, hard' boot categories. I'd never seen 'high, soft' boots until recently.

My boots were made for hiking, and that's just what they do!

I don't have boots, but I wish I did. I am hoping Santa will bring me some for Christmas.

I am not particularly fond of footwear. It is utilitarian & had better be comfortable. Boots are very confining & hot so I rarely wear mine.

Boots are a must in any real man's wardrobe. They look good with anything, and are particularly necessary where it's snowy. They are also good for dealing with recalcitrant tractors.

I have a pair of low, hard, Rockports that I really like. I wear them in winter if I'll be needing to walk through snow, and rarely other times of the year when dealing with rain or mud and such.

Oh, and I have ski boots (high, very hard, very stiff).

seth: Hard/soft generally refers to the material that composes the uppers. Riding boots are an excellent example of high and hard. Moccasin boots are an excellent example of soft, either low or high.

josef: "a must in any real man's wardrobe" yeah right.... I'd rather be barefoot... I have been known to bound around in snow barefoot.. if it is going to be a prolonged thing, then a pair of sneakers does me fine..

I have a pair of hiking boots and a pair of 8-hole Doc Martens which are near the end of their useful life. I wish those things lasted longer; they're hella good walking boots.

I have duckboots, heeled zip-up boots, and plain leather pull-on boots. I would love to have more boots. :)

I have hiking boots I wear when it's too cold/wet to wear sandals (~4 months each year). I wear them for trail riding too.

I have a pair of short, black, leather boots that I wear several times a week, and I have a pair of winter boots that I never wear. I also have a pair of hiking shoes, which I wear as boot.

I have one pair of combat boots, two pairs of Doc Martins, one pair of ropers, and a pair of Timberlands. I love high boots.. preferably dark hard leather... When I wear regular shoes, I miss the ankle support I'm used to with my boots. I wear my combats on a daily basis, and the ropers if I'm wearing something kinda dressy.
