A new kitchen would be nice but who cares about a wall oven? That's an outdated design. And why would anyone want slate for anything??? Granite or colored concrete are the latest popular style

The kitchen sounds the best and most practical.

Of these, I'd take the new kitchen. But the next thing I'd really like to have done on my apartment is to paint it and refinish the floors. And clean the windows (difficult because there are storm windows).

A spa/jacuzzi room would go down very nicely. Although the entertainment room is very tempting too.

nope... we are renovating the kitchen, building the rumpus room and the conservatory and putting in central air... but part of the "ha" was that even if someone else pays for the modification I can guarantee you you'll be paying for it in non-financial ways the whole time it's being built and all the time you have to keep it up * smile *

hey I haven't seen you on here much lately; I miss you and hope you're well

Everyone started watering theirs after they saw how nice mine looked but they should have started sooner because it was too late lol I have had many compliments and am very proud. Grass is a perfect child it does not talk back * laughing out loud *

Well, I rent a one bedroom apartment, so realistically I'm somewhat limited in my selection. I picked the remodeled kitchen. That would be practical. My kitchen right now is a piece of crap. The cabinets are starting to fall apart.

Other: For the owners of the apartment building in which I live to pave over the roof so that neighbors can go outside on it. I'd have a few tables, chairs and benches, and flower boxes. As it is now, the owner has a sign up forbidding people to walk on the roof because it causes holes in the tar and therefore leaks when rainy season comes. I live on the top floor with a view of the roof. It'd be great to have instead a view of a nice deck with plants in containers around, and this'd be a friendly thing to do for all the neighbors so they could go up anytime to chat, sit, read, sunbathe, whatever.

I'm not even allowed to put up posters (even if I use blue-tack) so I doubt they'd be keen on me installing a hot tub!

Oh well, I suppose posters being banned suggests my room's going to be better than my brother's last year. He had unplastered breeze block walls....

I'd go with the double garage but it would have to be detached (since we all ready have a three attached) and must have 12 foot high doors to fit my boat.

I didn't know they made salt water pools but anyway I think I'd like a pool. They're a pain to take care of, though. But I have a personal conviction that frequent swimming should be part of my life, and yet I don't ever do it.

Not sure what we'd do to our house...we're currently in the midst of adding on to it. My husband wanted more garage space (he recently bought his first collector car) and so we're expanding the garage. Above it will be an office (which is currently in the loft) and a craft room (I want a place to "play" where I don't have to worry about wood floors or carpet AND where I can leave projects out). On the second floor, we'll have a new master bedroom. Currently we only have two bedrooms which can be a problem. Our daughter has moved to her own bedroom (on our boat)---she'll want her bedroom in the house. Her older sister (my step-daughter) will be spending Christmas with us so another bedroom will be key.

Off subject, but the reason I couldn't sleep last night is I received a phone call from my husband's ex-wife yesterday morning. (She's not a real stable person.) She told me that she's having medical & emotional problems and that she's currently on unpaid medical leave. And that we're probably going to have to take my step-daughter. Thus yesterday was a bit of a blur---trying to figure out everything...international schools here in HK are oversuscribed...trying to transfer in the midst of junior year, etc...I've spoke with the Admissions Director of the American school here (where I used to teach...it probably helps that the AD is recently married to a good friend of mine...) 11th grade is full but she thinks that they can find space depending on which classes my step-daughter is in.

Just got off of the phone with my step-daughter. Now she's saying that she's probably NOT coming but maybe if things are still weired she'll come back with us at Christmas. (And I'm not planning on coming back to Hong Kong until the end of January!!!) As if it's that easy. There's school to organize, a dependent visa, etc.

AAGH!!! Plus I'm really tired because I'm in the early stages of my second pregnancy.

Sorry to ramble on...

A POOL!!!!!!! I live in the middle of the California desert,& it gets up to 115% in the hottest parts of summer. We need a POOL!!!

I've been pricing them & they run anywhere from $10,000.00 & up words. I would like to install a pool within the next 4 years. With a black painted bottom. Not so much wide but more so long,so I can swim laps.

Did you guys manage to get rid of that DEMON vine yet? You ever find out what that dang thing was?

I'm so happy that you got your grass to grow nice. It is so important to keep it up. Especially since it's almost winter. In some places the lawn goes dormant. Our's gets to looking down right ugly in the winter. * frown * But in the spring & summer it's so beautiful. So I can relate to your joy of having a beautiful green lawn. * smile *

Hows the house coming along? You must be VERY busy these days. I hardly see you guys around here anymore. But then again I've been quite busy myself as well. E-mail me sometimes. I miss talking to you in chat & what not.Don't be such a stranger girlfriend! HI to ASBT.

It would be a tough choice between a play room and a basement. I live in tornado alley, so a basement is almost mandatory. I guess the basement addition could include a play room. That would be my gym.
