I'm too lazy to look the site up, but since there is a site for the library then there must be a site for the city as well. Here's the library site- http://library.ci.springfield.or.us/

Yep. Matt Groening who was born and raised in Portland, Oregon (north of us) named the Simpson's town after us. He based Marge on his mother.

Not that I can find. London has so may tourist information ones. But my particular area - Stratford - I can't find any official one. And the one I found seems to have defunct or just started. Its crap and is just a site for advertisers.

I get that occassionaly too. I would create a survey (in fact I'm not sure if I have - I think I have actually) It was difficult to put it into words.

Recently - and this was a fun one. I was reading some survey on another site about a thing called Gaydar. A kind of Sixth Sense where you spot fellow queers. I was debating whether or not it really exists. Anyway, the next day I got on the train and immediately I felt a presence and saw this guy who immediately looked up too and we looked at each other with an immediate recognition. And the tube was crowded (you know how it gets now!) and I was one end, he was another and there were loads of people inbetween. Its hard to describe really.

(reply to Dino) posted 16-Sep-2002 11:27am

I always find words cropping up after I hear them for the first time. I had machiavellian explained to me one day and over the next week, people seemed to be saying it all the time!
Dino
(reply to Biggles) posted 16-Sep-2002 11:31am

*cue Kate Bush Quote*

" Do I look for those millionaires?
Like a Machiavellian girl would.
-When I could wear a sunset
"

I had the same with the word Ironic. It was all over the TV, magazines, conversations and then Alannis went and released her song. I was like - "Okay, I think I get it now, thank you Universe but you can stop now"
Dino
(reply to romkey) posted 16-Sep-2002 11:32am

Question: Do you believe in Gaydar? (the sixth sense - not the website)
Biggles
(reply to Dino) posted 16-Sep-2002 11:40am

And there you are talking about a Sixth Sense when I've just been to see a film directed by M. Night Shylaman (the director of The Sixth Sense)!
