| mikehunt696 | posted 7-Sep-2002 12:56am This needed an Other option because some of us newbies may not be aware there is a Survey Central dictionary. I certainly didn't know there was one and don't even know how to access it! |

| Frostbrand | (reply to dora) posted 7-Sep-2002 4:12am Me too. |
| msgman | posted 7-Sep-2002 5:35am I've added a lot of British spellings, plus some names that weren't there before. |
| Iseult | posted 7-Sep-2002 8:06am I added my name in it. I also added some Canadian spelling of the words. |
| jettles | posted 7-Sep-2002 9:27am nope |
| Enheduanna | posted 7-Sep-2002 9:59am I've added a bunch of correctly spelled words, some proper names, and some made-up words; I also accidentally added one incorrectly spelled word because I hit the wrong link. This was before there was an option to undo it. |
| juliw | posted 7-Sep-2002 10:57am Yes, I have added words that I misspelled or used just for fun just because I don't like getting that little message telling me to add the word to the dictionary. |
| teatree | posted 7-Sep-2002 11:21am What dictionary are you talking about? |
| confetti | posted 7-Sep-2002 11:39am No, I'm too impatient. |
| Amanda | posted 7-Sep-2002 12:10pm Yes, I've added several words to the dictionary. I've added a few proper nouns and also a few correctly spelled words that weren't already in the dictionary. |
| cody | posted 7-Sep-2002 1:03pm Actually, nope. I'm never particularly certain that my spellings are correct so I hesitate to do it. |
| LindaH | posted 7-Sep-2002 1:19pm I've added an SC user's name, but I can't remember who it was. I also added a real word, and also can't remember what it was. My memory for detail is really, really bad. |
| anoddoblivion | posted 7-Sep-2002 2:50pm Yep, a few. Freikin' and Hoboken are two I remember. |
| Bibliophile | (reply to mikehunt696) posted 7-Sep-2002 3:06pm If you didn't know that there was a dictionary, you have never added a word, so that would be no. |
| Bibliophile | (reply to teatree) posted 7-Sep-2002 3:11pm Whenever I type comments, if I have misspelled words or sometimes unusual or made up words I get a screen that says "There seem to be misspelled words in your comment, click the "lookup in Dictionary" links to look them up in the dictionary." There are two links. One links to Merriam-Webster to look up the word. The other link says "add to dictionary." Do you never spell anything wrong or have typos or for some reason does this screen not come up for you? |
| teatree | (reply to Bibliophile) posted 7-Sep-2002 5:24pm I opted not to check my spelling on my comments when I customized my page. I suppose that's why I don't get this and wasn't aware that others did. |
| Biggles | posted 7-Sep-2002 5:41pm Probably. I've put in a few proper English ones as opposed to American English. |
| Zang | posted 7-Sep-2002 6:56pm This came up some time ago. Bill said that I've added more words than anyone else, at least at that time. I seem to add new words quite regularly. The SC dictionary is far from complete. Normally I only add "real" words. I remember one time someone commented that they used the word "absofudginglutely" and were surprised that the dictionary recognised it. That was because I put it in there! I think that's the only silly word that I've put in there. |
| juliw | (reply to Zang) posted 7-Sep-2002 9:12pm |
| harekrishnadasa | posted 7-Sep-2002 11:33pm I add aussie words & Hare Krishna words. |
| Zang | (reply to juliw) posted 8-Sep-2002 12:11am Absofudginglutely! |

| they | posted 15-Sep-2002 11:47pm I think I added 'fruck' or 'frucked' once.. among other real words. |

| pterodactyl | posted 18-Sep-2002 5:54am No, but next time I am presented with the schmality to do so, I will |
| wolfchik9 | posted 18-Sep-2002 10:02pm No, I haven't as far as I know. I would if I used it often or if it really is a word. |
