| Amanda | posted 3-Sep-2002 5:47am No. I was in a long-term relationship with a guy much older than me. We were engaged to be married, but I ended the relationship a little while back. Even though it didn't work out, I don't regret the time I spent with him. He will always hold a special place in my heart. |
| Irene007 | posted 3-Sep-2002 6:59am No, I've not regretted too many things in my life. I've been married for 20 years to a man who is 10 years my senior. We've never felt an age difference. |
| Dino | posted 3-Sep-2002 7:47am NO, been there and done that. (They were older) I would probably regret dating someone younger if it ever happened. |
| confetti | posted 3-Sep-2002 8:14am I have no regrets. |
| Biggles | posted 3-Sep-2002 9:09am I've never dated anyone. |
| Enheduanna | posted 3-Sep-2002 9:32am I don't think I've ever dated someone in a completely different age-bracket. |
| grmbrand | posted 3-Sep-2002 11:53am Done it. Never regretted it. |
| anoddoblivion | posted 3-Sep-2002 11:57am Yes, not because she was younger though. |
| teatree | posted 3-Sep-2002 1:48pm This hasn't happened to me, but a female neighbor was arrested for contributing to the deliquency of a minor (they didn't have an equivalent statuatory rape change for women at the time, they now do). She was in her late 30's to early 40's and was having sex with a 15 year old boy. He was her son's best friend and her son reported her as the whole idea of his mother having sex with his best friend, especially when she was more than twice his age, totally grossed him out! She was put on probation and ordered to take sex offender classes. |
| Zang | posted 3-Sep-2002 3:55pm No. -"No regrets" that's my motto! -I kind of have a thing for older women. -I've never had reason to regret any relationship. |
| dora | posted 3-Sep-2002 5:42pm I never dated somebody MUCH younger than me.At 16,I dated someone almost 15,and that's all.I would date someone much younger (under 17) or older (over 33)than me only if I was really really in love with him.And dating someone under 15 is out of discussion totally.I'm too old already, let 15 year old boys date 15 year old girls,or anyway somebody younger than me.And for the older guys, well,I don't have a real limit, but I don't like men of my father age. I like them young looking, but it's not compulsory for them to be young.I love 25 years old men looking like they were 18,but I want them to be 25...complicated? Yes. |
| dora | posted 3-Sep-2002 5:46pm I know that 17-23 and 23-33 isn't a different age bracket really...but I'm young.At 33 I will see as okay dating someone who is 20.But now 17-33 is my ideal age range. |
| romkey | posted 4-Sep-2002 12:34am I've never dated someone much older or younger. |
| Dino | posted 4-Sep-2002 9:10am *sits patiently awaiting Jemmy's answer* |
| Jemmy | posted 4-Sep-2002 4:43pm No. Not yet anyhow. I'm dating someone who is a little more than 20 years older than I am. |
| Jemmy | (reply to Dino) posted 4-Sep-2002 4:45pm |
| Dino | (reply to Jemmy) posted 5-Sep-2002 4:02am I say go girl! I just wondered how you were going to respond. |
| Jemmy | (reply to Dino) posted 5-Sep-2002 6:38pm Yeah, I suppose I am in an unusual relationship, aren't I? I try not to ever have regrets though. |
| Kristal_Rose | posted 6-Sep-2002 3:55am No, I dated a much older woman. There were tons of problems, but none age related, although I was occasionally distracted by the thought that I could be with someone more attractive. (but then that was true even when I was married to semone gorgeous). |
| Bibliophile | posted 8-Sep-2002 2:41pm I've never really dated anyone with a significant age difference. I had a running flirtation with a friend who was 4 years younger than me. I used to tease him about it, but I don't really think that much of a difference is a big deal. (Although the younger a person is the more significant age difference are. 15 & 20 is a big difference. 20 & 25, much less of a difference, but still could be noticeable due to the life stage thing, 70 & 75, who cares?) I think difficulties a couple would run into are the reactions of other people & problems with being at different stages in their live--wanting & needing different things. |
| Hans | posted 11-Sep-2002 6:04pm Some years ago, I dated a girl who was 14 years younger than me (she was 20). It was incredible. I hated that age difference because it meant there was no real future for us, for various reasons. It may be enough to say that I have never known such an intensity of feelings, neither before nor afterwards. I found it extremely bitter to realise we had to leave each other. |
| Kristal_Rose | (reply to Hans) posted 11-Sep-2002 11:30pm 20 & 34? What didn't work? |
| wolfchik9 | posted 18-Sep-2002 8:39pm Nope, I don't regret anything like that. |
| sonikJ | posted 29-Sep-2002 5:29pm My husband is 20, and I'm almost 25. No problems so far, and the sex is awesome! Girls, go younger...you'll never go back! Men hit their sexual peak at age 18, whereas women peak at age 35. Makes ya wonder, doesn't it? |
| lilSyd | posted 30-Sep-2002 6:40pm i think older guys are more mature, and i think thats why i go for the older guys! |
| joachim | posted 3-Oct-2002 7:31pm I have more than once regretted dating someone just older enough than me. Well, maybe I haven't exactly regretted the relationships themselves, but the fact that they didn't work out. |
| starrpickle | posted 5-Nov-2002 12:21pm So far I think i regret every date older younger animal vegetable mineral pickle onion sesame seed buns where will it all end and when will it get better regret HA! my mistake i just missed |
