It's taken me all these years to realize that some people don't really think hard about anything. They just go through life achieving and failing and living their lives without giving a thought to anything. How I envy them.

I try not to think, but if I must, I usually short circuit connections in my brain.

I'm too busy thinking to really notice! But I appear to be in a bubble and I react to outside interference with impatience.

I just scrunch my face up and stare into the distance. Then get tired and go hunting for chocolate.

I sit silently in bed, often for hours. This often happens to me when I look up from writing in "Blue", or a strange series of events has recently entered my life. I don't speak my thoughts not for fear of ridicule but because they're my own thoughts and are called so for a reason.

The most recent times when I've been thinking hard have been doing exams. I think that I furrow my brow, raise my eyes to look up (not sure whether I look up and left or up and right) and purse my lips to the right hand side. But that may have more to do with recalling memory than actually *thinking* - certainly raising the eyes to one side has to do with accessing memory.

If I'm thinking really hard, I don't tend to speak - I'll be visualising the problem.

I think mostly I just furrow my brow. Sometimes I speak aloud to myself as well.

We had to do this thing in a psychology class I took in college where we asked people questions and we recorded which way they looked up when they were thinking of the answers. They didn't know that was what we were looking for. I wish I could remember what the results of the study were, though! It was really interesting.

I'll have to ask my brother - he's studying psychology at university. He's got all his textbooks here while he's on his holidays. I'lll take a look at them.

I like to sit in a comfortable chair, with my feet up. I have a clip-board with a pad of paper. I use this to doodle on when I'm thinking. I might make charts or lists or graphs or diagrams...

I am a student of Neuro Linguistic Programming. I find it all very fascinating and I use what I have learned to look into folks and get a better understanding of what they are actually saying when they speak and move. NLP looks for patterns and one of the earliest patterns noticed in humans was a tendency for the eyes to look in a certain direction when thinking in a certain way.

I checked off "pace" and "twiddle my thumbs" but in fact what I do is tap out the rhythm to whatever song is in my head with my fingers and then, when I'm really thinking hard, stand up. I just jump out of my chair. Don't know why. I don't think it helps me think any better. Usually after I do that I get back in my chair.
