My E-mail is thesouthernyankee@hotmail.com

I wont give out my home address because:
1) I no longer live at my house and can only get the mail when I go back and visit.
2) I don't trust you people with my home address (even if this is survey central)
and 3) it is possible that someone outside of SC could stumble on this page

oh, and I don't have an yahoo messenger or AOL or any of that crap. The only thing I used to have is an ICQ account (well, I still have it), but I am not able to access it right now.

As others have said, it is not a good idea to put out your home address anywhere on the net. Why do you think retailers use secure connections for sales? You don't want strange people showing up at your door, or stealing your identity, a more probable occurance.

It's pretty good. One can easily walk to work (in my opinion -- since I am a walker by nature, but I actually do see plenty of folks doing this). Parking is horrific, however, and the rents are terrible. I have lived in the greater downtown area many years (previously Telegraph Hill) but would like now to move to the Twin Peaks/Corona Heights area (the MUNI underground has existed for years now and this area is also very convenient to downtown because of it). There are lots of working people and apartment buildings in the area where I am now; I am close to a few big top-of-the-hill hotels and a block downhill from Grace Cathedral on California St.

Portuguese is my own favorite language. I can understand some. I'd like to go to Rio also 'cause I have always had these strong feelings about it whenever I've seen photos of it. So I am quite familiar with Rio even though I've not yet been there -- a friend went; books; TV specials; films; specials; Web, etc. Which cities did you visit? I'd like to go to Salvador, Bahia too.

Unfortunately, some of those country areas do not support the people enough and they move in desperation to the big cities hoping to find jobs but add to all the poverty in the cities. It's such a depressing thought. I am very drawn to Carnaval and Mardi Gras celebrations myself but I prefer more the individual neighborhood celebrations rather than the huge corporate-funded touristy shows. But I still like those parades enough anyway. I used to buy videotapes of Carnaval every year but the past few years have not been able to find any.
