For example, "Manic Monday" by The Bangles.

"Sunday Morning", an excellent little ditty by No Doubt and the first thing I ever heard from them. I remember seeing the video and being entranced by Gwen because her skin was the exact same color as her hair, she had black pencil-thin eyebrows and yet she was one of the most beautiful women I had ever seen.

There's one I forgot! "Ruby Tuesday" is a Rolling Stones song from 1967. It was a #1 pop hit. The chorus goes:

Goodbye Ruby Tuesday
Who could hang a name on you?
When you change with every new day
Still I'm gonna miss you

That's a great song. I can't believe I forgot it.

I have been dreaming of you a lot,but I can't remember anything. It seems like you were driving a taxi but maybe that's something else I made up when I wasn't fully asleep.Anyway I dream about you.
I dream about driving cars and trucks myself too.I never did before.I drive recklessly, but no accident follows.I used to dream about other people driving and me in the passenger seat, does this changing mean that I'm gaining control over my life maybe?

Ah yes, ready to road-rage with a goblet of dinosaur essence at her lips.
Song sounds like 'I'll stop the world and melt with you' which was my theme song during my spiritual awakening. If I've ever tried to reach you in a dream, I don't recall. Interesting. Driving a taxi, that seems appropriately symbolic, come to think of it, I was just watching some show where the passenger was asking the driver 'Hef this isn't like seme taxi confessional, is it?', and the driver hides his white collar. I was considereng myself in that league and paused for a second to consider it literally. Come to think of it, I have a cousin who drives limo's in that fashion as a weekend hobby away from his engineering department. When I got home after christmas, a taxi driver stopped at the street corner where I was waiting for a bus, and gave me a free ride home. She also gave some powerful relevant angelic advice out of the blue.

These things happen in many bizarre stretched complex patterns. I'm glad you're dreaming of me, and have a feedback loop in your reality. That same force more powerful means you can think up what you will find at the thrift store tomorrow, like a steam engine or set of croquet mallets you wanted. If that same force becomes faster, you wil be able to converse with your tv. If it also becomes wider, your entire universe becomes a surreal play in which you are the writer or the only person in the audience of something all talking to you. We live in a very plastic unified reality. crappy clairvoyants can become good clairvoyants if they decide to be so.

It was like when John added 'In' to 'Don't you know that you can count me out'. I'm almost sure it was some alternative to 'and I began to pray', but now I'm wondering if I even got the same song; perhaps it was Peter, Paul, and Mary or something. My spirit voice tells me to believe it, though. Maybe it was just different that time. The rules of physics are gradually changing for me anyhow. Oh, well. If I ever spot it again, I'll let you know.

Blue Monday was the top selling 12 inch single of all time.

A few years ago, me and a buddy did a cover of "Dreams Never End", the first song on New Order's first album. It was fun! We did an all electronic version (with vocals). The lyrics were really hard to decipher. We just kind of winged it. We each did a vocal track, but when we mixed it down, at the start of the second verse, we shifted, and it turned into a "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" kind of thing, where we were singing different lines at different times! We decided we liked it that way, so we kept it, even though it would have been quite easy to fix... * smile *

Did you know that the Factory records actually lost money on every copy of the Blue Monday 12 inch that was sold? The sleeve design was so expensive compared to the price of single that when all the publishing costs were paid, they were losing money per copy. Tony Wilson, Factory's boss, knew this beforehand but decided that 1) it a thing of beauty and 2) they weren't going to sell that many anyway.
Zang
(reply to icurok) posted 14-Aug-2002 1:54pm
No I didn't know that. It is kind of funny. It would be funnier if it were a major label. You would think after the first run, they would have cheaped out on the packaging for the second pressing. They've done that with a lot of vinyl. First pressing comes with stickers, posters, gimicks...whatever...and then they just slap something together...

It was just the way Factory records was run. If you get a chance, see the film "24 Hour Party People" which charts a lot of it. Factory records is/was a major label to British music. It was behind most of what came out of Manchester during the 80's to early 90's like Joy Division, New Order and the Happy Mondays.
Zang
(reply to icurok) posted 14-Aug-2002 2:46pm
Oh I'm very familiar with Factory Records. They were pretty successful, but I still think they qualify as an "independent" label in the scheme of things. Didn't they just start out in the late 70s with the first Joy Division singles? Major labels are usually considered to be the ones that dominated the recording industry from 1930, up to about 1975, and were HUGE, with rosters of artists that list in the 100s...

(I like to think that Joy Division's "Closer" was the "Sgt. Pepper" of my generation. * wink * )
