Its just fine as it is (almost) well the time limit is fine Perhaps they should make it so that it won't get qualified until you've gone back and checked it out

Hell, it's too long. I always want to kick its ass whenever I have a really good, flawless survey and it has to wait 24 hours with all the other second-rates. |

Seems about right to me. |

Not at all. I think 24 hours is just enough time. Any longer would be dragging it out, and it would be rushed if it were shorter. |
Lahdee |
No, it's perfect. |
Galomorro |
No -- not too rushed; would make it shorter. |

i feel people can be a little impatient, a survey i created was deleted after only about 2 days. I didn't give up on the survey, but I don't come on to sc every day, like the people that probably deleted it. I have a job and am actually grounded from my computer so its harder for me to find time to come on. |
| teatree | | (reply to DeeJay) posted 9-Aug-2002 11:36am |
I'm sorry to hear that you've been grounded from your computer, but in that scenario shouldn't you abstain from creating until you are ungrounded? You shouldn't really create a survey unless you can keep tabs on it. We have no way of knowing who created a survey when it's in qualification...I'm sure you are aware of that, so when a survey isn't fixed after several days then many of us feel it's been abandoned. You can't expect us to be mindreaders and know which survey belongs to whom, can you? That would be unreasonable in any case. Just curious-why are you grounded from your computer? |
| NthenSome | | posted 9-Aug-2002 12:44pm |
Nah - but, I do wish that there were other ratings in qualification for surveys - something that expressed "I think this is a joke", maybe a "goofy" rating. I don't like having to repeatedly look at a survey that asks, "Are you an African American member of the KKK?" or "Are you f*cking stupid?" |

Look in qual! Quick! Before it gets HFed to death! |

i know we're not mindreaders, but i'm just saying to take into consideration that not everyone is able to comes to sc every day. I'm actually grounded from everything, friends, computer,...but when my parents are gone i can usually find away to get past my groundings, i was grounded because i was caught smoking weed, i was grounded in june, and i'm grounded for the rest of my summer and the first semester of senior year, and even after that i can only have "1 day out of the weekend" and i'll be promptly drug tested when i get home. Its a little much don't you think? |
| teatree | | (reply to DeeJay) posted 9-Aug-2002 5:18pm |
I'm not going to answer as to whether or not it's too much unless I know both sides of the story. |
| NthenSome | | (reply to Zang) posted 9-Aug-2002 11:33pm |
Sorry I haven't got back to you, but I'm told Scott has just returned from a trip and is sort of 'out of commission'. I'm sure to reach him this weekend, though, because I'm resorting to his cell phone by now. I'll keep you tabbed! *runs to Qual-Land to see what the hell's up* |
| NthenSome | | (reply to Zang) posted 9-Aug-2002 11:35pm |
Actually, I just reached him on his cell! I'll email you over the weekend with the info... *really runs to Qual-Land now* |

No. A survey will not pass quickly if it has problems. There is plenty of time to address problems, and 24 hours is long enough for enough people to give their opinions. |

qualification is a real pain in the arse for newbies. It provides a very real hurdle to new members joining. Remember, its not an english exam. People come here for fun and its no fun to be criticised. So what if someone types dont instead of don't ? Does it *really* matter? No, of course it doesnt. Its still readable. And look there, I've misspelled doesnt. Is my meaning still clear? Probably you didnt even notice the error.
Remember the old motto, "Perfection is the enemy of the good" So long as a survey is good enough it should go through. It doesnt HAVE to be perfect. the relentless drive for perfection is turning people off this site, and the sooner thats realized, the better.

Last time I was here it was 24 hours. At least. That's fine with me. |

I am forced to agree with you. |
| Locutus | | (reply to NthenSome) posted 31-Aug-2002 2:33pm |
Add a "Stupid" rating and an "Ingenious" rating to that list and you have a masterpiece. |
