| bill | posted 28-Dec-1997 9:07am I use the 'net 10-14 hours a week, but I'm not really surfing - more making specific searches and maintaining some web pages that I do. |
| Jaime | posted 29-Dec-1997 7:58am I don't like to surf, I prefer to go directly to the sites I like or run searchs. |
| milktree | posted 29-Dec-1997 9:19am gosh, how embarasing, I didn't realise it was so much |
| doom | posted 29-Dec-1997 11:33am I am online 40+ hours at work so something is always on my screen between calls and projects |
| linda | posted 31-Dec-1997 4:29pm A lot of my job involves surfing the web. I rarely spend personal time in front of a computer these days. |
| llyra | posted 1-Jan-1998 5:28am it's really hard to say; i do a couple minutes here, a couple minutes there, while i'im at work and in between calls. |
| jefff | posted 2-Jan-1998 1:20am Does "surf" imply random net-wandering, or does it mean any time spent online whatsoever? If the latter, my answer must go from "under 5 hours" to 10-14 hours. I spend a great deal of time using the net for directed research and analysis, but relatively little for just cruising around. |
| Dahlia | posted 3-Jan-1998 2:32am I put under 5 hours, but there are many times when I don't go on for weeks. I kind of go in spurts. It all depends I guess. --This questions brings a feeling of deja-vu. |
| dvmike | posted 4-Jan-1998 9:54am Like I keep track |
| Jimmy | posted 5-Jan-1998 2:35am I don't count, but I'm sure not too many. And I don't really 'surf', I scan. =) |
| NYBookworm | posted 5-Jan-1998 1:48pm it'd probably be more but I don't own my own computer |
| Timmi | posted 6-Jan-1998 10:59am I work for a computer networking company. "Surfing" is part of my job description. |
| Tonya | posted 6-Jan-1998 3:33pm it has decreased lately |
| vanadium | posted 8-Jan-1998 5:52pm Dangerous since it's a large part of my job. Find the tool, check the site, fix the problem, push the button.... |
| Dolemite | posted 1-Mar-1998 5:50pm As long as there is new porn, I'll be there. |
| joe | posted 18-Mar-1998 9:36pm i do it for work, several hours a day, plus my own website....too much |
| Artemis | posted 19-Mar-1998 5:39pm Usually when I'm really, really bored. |
| daver | posted 15-May-1998 7:42pm My work involves gluing my eyes to the screen, I can sleep in a chair, and isn't that what IV's are for? Seriously, I'm doing something online perhaps 10 hours a week, but I'm usually connected for far longer. At work (free 'net access) I usually leave a terminal window open. |
| phi | posted 24-Jun-1998 11:58pm I'm including both Survey Central and legitimate (work) research, but not time spent maintaining my own material. |
| gilly | posted 31-Jul-1998 4:06pm Depends on my access. When I'm not working, or working from home, it could be 5 hours a day or more. This temp job has net access and not too much work (as the astute can tell by how many surveys I've answered in the last few days) so I'm online all the time. The last job had no access, so it was maybe only 2 hours in the morning and evening. |
| dpolicar | posted 10-Aug-1998 2:35pm Depends... does SC count as surfing? I assumed so. |
| Biggles | posted 3-Aug-2006 7:09pm Less than I used to. And I don't really surf any more - emails, SC, medical school...that's about it. |
