I choosed the first one, bcos we are talking about clasical astrology. But, as I answered in other survey, I think that, of course, stars and planets have some influence over the fluids, and human body contains a lot, so stars must have some influence. But who knows how?

There is no option "I believe in astrology, but I don't make decisions based on it." I consider myself to be a fairly rational, non-supersticious, scientific person, but Then I'll see someone do a chart (not the crap in the paper, but a real chart) and *so* much of it is accurate it's hard to just discount off hand. The things that come out are aplicable to the subject, but not to others in the room, which means it's not just random guesses that happen to hit occasionally. It's a little creepy, I like to think that we are all free-thinking individuals who can create our own desiny, yet this damn chart can predict/describe our behavior and attidudes.

Mass belief in any psuedo-science is a dangerous thing.

Most astrological forecasts fall into the same category as chinese fortune cookies and Ann Landers columns - funny often enough to be worth scanning. Of course, Rob Brezny's _Real Astrology_ is entirely different kettle of sneakers - it's 100% absolutely ghodz-honest truth. Check it out - http://www.free-times.com/astro.html

I like to read my horoscopes at the end of the day to see how accurate they were. Most of the time they are way off, but sometimes they are spooky in that they are bang on . Chance I guess. Although I must say that I have read up on all the astrological signs and find it an eery coincidence that my personality does match my sign to a tee. But still, I take it with a grain of salt. It's fun to read and think about.

I'm a Gemini. Ask me again tomorrow whether I believe in astrology. I guess sort of yes, and sort of no.

I find it an interesting study of a unique phenomenon. I used the study of it as a diversion while studying for the bar. Sad to state I have found little validity in studies of the stars

Certainly I believe in it. I just don't believe it gives accurate predictions.

No. We're ending the 20th century, do you remember?

I put said whatever floats someone's boat. That's pretty much my attitude towards religion too. If it makes you happy, more power to you, start to preach, then the lowered opinion comes into play. BTW, dvmike: I've noticed you've stopped answering in all caps. Thanks a lot, that's a pet peeve of mine (and a few others I've noticed), cool.

I'm agnostic. It's actually surprising to me the number of ways in which this affects my opinions.

It's Astrologer, actually. and in that I have made a study of astrology, I guess that makes me one. but I don't believe in the validity of astrology -- I just find it interesting as a system to learn also, you should make the distinction between the full-blown Natal and Horary astrologies (or Vedic) and the pithy little fortunes in your newspaper

I don't believe in it, possibly because I don't fit either my sun or moon sign at all. I have a friend who plays around with it a bit and she fits hers pretty well. Maybe I'm a changeling ;)

It is an interesting cultural response, developed over time, to both random and periodic phenomenon. Stare at the static on the television for long enough, and you'll begin to find patterns and codify them as well.

Astrology works on people because it only tells you good things about yourself. What if it said: "Pisces, you're stupid and ugly. Your mom is fat, you won't find true love this month, you fall asleep during sex, and you have the charisma of an ice plant. You're future looks bleak." You wouldn't buy that would you? It's all about profits and the weak minded. Whatever happened to "My mommy told me not to believe in pseudosciences"?

can the minute gravitational field on earth created by the alignment of the planets have any effect on a persons personality? seems unlikely. but hey the brain is a complex instrument which is probably very sensitive to small changes, so hey, we can't rule it out on physical grounds.

I believe Astrology as a study exists. Do I believe that planets and stars have any more effect than gravity on my person. No, of course not.

I am highly superstitious.. there may be somethign to it.. then again, as in anything 'mystical' there are a lot of charlatins who prey on the simple..

No, with the caveat that any symbol system can be used to bring into focus things that you know but don't know you know... so astrology can "work", depending on the user and how you define "work."
