All of them plus hang gliders, wind surfers and the lighter-than-air type of planes. I've also seen the Spruce Goose (Howard Hughes famous plane), but not in the air. It's at a museum in Oregon. |

This is uhhh...well, I just answered the questions, which turned out to be all the above. I saw the space shuttle Challenger blow up ten miles above me in the sky while I was stationed at Cape Canaveral, Florida, in '84. It was a pretty sick sight. Mostly "sick" was the morning after the accident, when my sisters and I had to chase off tourists who were pulling out pieces of the debree that were washing ashore. People continued, so I ran across the street to the base to get Air Force help. People can be pretty morbid sometimes. I also have seen missles, fighter jets (been in one), prop-jobs, UFOs, stars, planets, catapulted dishes and the occasional sighting of Mary Poppins. She just won't come down, the wench. |

Para glider and hang glider and toilet paper being thrown from Gold Coast apartments at the start of school holidays. |
| grmbrand | | posted 11-Jun-2002 8:57am |
All of the above plus hang gliders, ultralights (technically airplanes, I suppose), and dirigibles (which are different than blimps). |
LindaH | | posted 11-Jun-2002 11:10am |
I've seen a lot of those on the list. Every once in a while (most recently just the other day) I see a flash of light in the sky. It could be the sun reflecting off something man made up there, or something there taking pictures with really bright flash |

All the given objects and handgliders and windsurfers. |
Enheduanna | | posted 11-Jun-2002 1:19pm |
I'm assuming you mean actually seen, not just in a movie or on TV. I've seen the first 7 of these. If you count little toy rockets, I've also seen a rocket. |
Irene007 | | posted 11-Jun-2002 2:07pm |
All of those as well as some I'm not sure what they were and others I could identify, like; a plate, a shoe and a sugar bowl (all things that were thrown at me!). |

I have never seen a rocket, I just realized how pathetic I am! |

Everything listed except the rocket and weather balloon. |

In all truth, aren't balloons the greatest, simplistic thing ever? |

The wildest one was a demo of star-wars over the santa monica ocean. there was a con-trail from a zigzagging missle and a tesla aurora hovering where it had been disintegrated out of existence. i've seen several varieties of hang-glider too. I've made many of the things on this list. |
Kristal_Rose | | (reply to NthenSome) posted 12-Jun-2002 6:52am |
wench, eh? not coming back till you chalk up some more penguins. So what were these manmade planets and stars, again? |

What the hell is a blimp? |

That was so cute!!!! I love it! |
| Cleo | | posted 12-Jun-2002 7:43pm |
All the above except a Rocket & a Satellite. What about Fireworks?? |
| Cleo | | (reply to Cain) posted 12-Jun-2002 7:48pm |
A blimp looks like the Zeppelin.
You know the "Led Zeppelin" balloon in their 1st & 2nd albums(CD).
In the U.S. They have it hovering over football games & other major events. |
| grmbrand | | (reply to Cain) posted 13-Jun-2002 8:47am |
Dirigle: A rigid LTA (lighter than air) vessel. Examples include the zeppelins, all of which were comprised of metal frames over which silk panels were sewn as a covering. The hydrogen chambers that actually gave zeppelins their loft were set -inside- the metal frame.
Blimp: A non-rigid LTA. The only thing above the cockpit and engines of a blimp is a large (often multichambered) balloon. The shape of the balloon is determined by how it is sewn, and not by any rigid frame. |

I've not seen one either. Do you live near a space station? If not then forget about it. Even if you do its fine. I haven't seen some of the tourist attractions in my city and yet millions have. |

Ooohhhh. Ok, you got me - "man made". ! I left you another post somewhere around here about that email. I HAD to locate that story behind that "token" of sorts I have for you. |

cool happy happy. i'll have to do some scouting i guess. *recalls JD in his eagle scout uniform.* You never did visit the 'talk out loud in public' survey. |

No, I don't think so... nearest one would be in California I think but I am not sure.. My In-laws live in Alabama though, so if we ever move there than I suppose I will see one. |

I have seen: - airplane - blimp (oh I love that word) - helicopter - helium balloon - hot air balloon - kite - paper air plane (god knows how many) - parachute - satellite (they've been more like quick flashes though)
I could also say I've seen a rocket, but I guess those you can buy in the store won't qualify as a real rocket... |

WHAT? Paper plane has 45 votes? Who has had such a horrible childhood without paper planes? :) |

Plastic bags. |
Kristal_Rose |
Condoms. They inflate to several feet long when filled with gas from the barbeque. |
| Biggles |
They're also supposed to be the ideal way to carry large amounts of water in survivalist situations....... |
Kristal_Rose | | (reply to Biggles) posted 5-Jul-2002 8:12pm |
If they don't pop. I can see them as a lining in something like a boda-bag. They sure carry a lot of genetic encoding at times. |
| Biggles |
What's a boda-bag? |

It's like a leathar canteen. They're great for filling with wine for drifting down rivers on summer days in innertubes. I once made screwdrivers back in highschool out of bacardi 151 and tang orange concentrate, nothing else. |
| Biggles |
Not far off what they used in the olden days Why make screwdrivers? *suddenly clicks* Or are you talking about a drink? |
Kristal_Rose | | (reply to Biggles) posted 5-Jul-2002 8:43pm |
A drink. It's what was in mom's cabinet at the time, and transported well to our party, a fantasy gaming gathering taking place at an abandoned mansion full of secret passages. |
| Biggles |
Wow. Sounds like a great place |
Kristal_Rose | | (reply to Biggles) posted 5-Jul-2002 8:58pm |
Yeah, a couple years ago I wanted to turn it into a bed and breakfast or community art facility (kilns, dark room, etc.), but someone had beat me to it. |

Also saw the space shuttle pass overhead. It was at night, radio said when and where to look. It was like a small white light passing slowly overhead. |
