Alziemer's. I would worry about getting that. I hate the idea of not being in control of my mind. It worries me. |

The one that I'm most frightened of developing myself is alzheimer's. Anything that affected me like that, in my head, would be awaful - like CJD. On an international level, AIDS is the most frightening just because it has so many people ill and unlike diseases like malaria it doesn't appear to have any beneficial properties.
I checked the box for Alzheimer's. |

I find AIDS, cancer, Alzheimer's and MS to be pretty equally frightening. Alzheimer's and MS run in the family. |

Frightening is not the term I'd use. I find meeting people (especially children or kids my age) with AIDS or basically any kind of terminal illness in most cases deeply heart-wrenching. But it's not so much my own emotions at stake; it's simply moving to see someone so close to death with hope for life itself. |

I'd have to say I'm most afraid of cancer. I've had several people that are very close to me die from various types of cancer. My mother is now very ill with stage 4 recurrent colorectal cancer that has spread to the vaginal wall, left lung, lymphnodes, and left kidney. It's very scary to watch someone suffer with a terrible disease like cancer.
I'm also afraid of AIDS. I'm not scared to getting it or of the people with it or anything. It's just a scary thing that so many people have it and there is no cure. |

Cancer because I've already have pre-cancerous ovarian cysts removed in the past plus a total hysterectomy. |

For me, it's a toss up between alzheimer's and parkinson's. Slow, degenerative neural pathologies are not my idea of a good time. |

Alzheimer's frightens the crap out of me. None of those illnesses are nice, but I've watched several members of my family slip into dementia and become complete strangers to themselves and the world around them. |

Plague.I mean they are all bad,but there's something in plague that is scaring. If you think about it many other diseases listed here are much worse, but centuries of plague have instilled a deep fear of the stuff in me.War,plague and hunger, you know. It's deeply rooted in our memory I guess.

Right now I'm frightened by diabetes since my mom has it, I'm overweight, and I currently have hypoglycemia.

Schizophrenia Lupus Cancer Depression
In that order. They run in my Family, and I seem to deal with the depression thing but can't get help. It scares me that I will never get the help I need and will go crazy from it. |

I'm not really "frightened" by disease. I see them all as problems that we need to learn to deal with. I'm more disturbed by the lack of disease prevention, especially in poor countries that can't afford expensive pharmaceuticals, or that are denied them by their government or the governments of other countries. |
