How often do you check your credit report?

Your credit report is used by lenders to determine your credit worthiness when you apply for almost any type of loan. It is also sometimes checked by potential employers.

Consumer credit watch groups suggest you check your report 1-2 times yearly (or more often if you think something fishy is going on).

I rarely check it. I don't use credit cards and being unemployed I doubt anyone would be able to get credit (or want to for that matter) in my name.

At least several times a year to make sure Pattie (my ex) isn't trying to pull something again. It wouldn't be the first time if she did.

It was just checked recently by Mitsubishi. They thought it was so good they let me take an $19,000 automobile home for free. And my first payment won't be until June of next year.

I thought so. They saw me coming a mile away! * laughing out loud * I am sure I had that look of complete horror at the thought of actually buying a car so they said..."Give her one free for now....or she'll never take one off our hands."
0 down, 0 payments for the first full year and 0 interest accrued during that year. I couldn't say no. Well, I did say no a few times. Funny thing is when you say no, and mean it...they'll start doing circus tricks to make you happy and take a car. I got the highest trim level with all the bells and whistles for the price of their standard base model when I complained that they didn't have the color I really wanted and was ready to go home without a car. It was like watching a very funny puppet show.

I've never checked my credit report. I assume I have good credit. I pay my bills and I'm never later on them and I got a loan a year ago and had no problems getting it.

There's a million places online, but beware - the email flood that follows is hard to stop.
I think you're entitled to one free one every so often. Just locate the major credit agencies of the nation you reside, write one ask for them all. Or...if you've been turned down for some line of credit, I hear you have the right to have all credit reporting agencies to send you a current copy of your report.

...I go away for a couple days (it wasn't even two!) and my survey gets stolen...I thought it was 72 hours before someone could claim it...

I think I know what he's going to say to explain himself - probably something to the effect of "Krishna!" Actually, I don't remember this being in there that long either. It was created the ninth, and it just turned the 12th. Strange!
I think Mr. Harekrishnadasa just didn't want to see it sink...
Anyway, good survey... * smile *

I don't keep records that clearly track the timing of such things, but it should only be possible to edit (and thus take over) someone else's survey if it sits in Qualification for 3 days. I have no reason to suspect that trickery was used by harekrishnadasa (he's not the type). Regardless... the new sc that I'm working on will not allow other users to edit your survey... it maybe not even have a qualification system (but perhaps something lighter weight, we'll see).

I've never checked it because I've never acquired a credit card or bought something on credit. I get several offers weekly in my mailbox, but I don't like the interest rates on the cards.
