I haven't had an SO in years, but I didn't meet the parents of my last one. One of them was deceased the other lived on the East Coast. |

I haven't had an SO ever. |

I only met my ex's parents once before the wedding and of course they were at our wedding. I called them Mr & Mrs Brandenmeyer as I barely knew them. |
| teatree |
I called my first husband's parents mom and dad as we were really close. My second husband's parents were both dead. They were killed in a car crash while on vacation about 10 years before I met him. |

First names; Krzystof and María José. Anj's dad just adores me, he's the sweetest elderly Polish gentleman you could find...his mom is a sanctimonious dog who tells me I've gained weight every time she sees me and when tells her son about all the pretty, nice girls she knows that he should date whenever I'm in earshot. |

I call them by their first names, when I speak to them, which isn't often. Dominic doesn't get along very well with his parents. |

Had to choose that I don't speak to my SO's parents as both are deceased. |

I call my in-laws by their first names, but this survey was inspired by my sister-in-law (my brother's wife) who still, after 10 years of marriage, doesn't call my parents ANYTHING! They see each other a lot, so it's kind of weird. |
| Gamera |
"Mama," or her first name depending on the context. "Papa," or his nickname, also depending on same. |
| grmbrand |
By their request, I use their first names. |

I've never "called" them anything. I don't know what I would call them so I just avoid doing it. |

With my last SO I called his mom by her first name... his parents are divorced and he doesn't talk to his dad so I never met him. The SO before him I called his mom "mom" (since she insisted) and his dad by his first name |

Elderly? Is his father so old? |
| confetti | | (reply to dora) posted 8-Jun-2002 6:10pm |
Yeah...his oldest son, Marek, is 26. |
| dora | | (reply to confetti) posted 8-Jun-2002 6:23pm |
Well...I'm 23...my parents are 50something...that's not old. |

His mom has the same name as my mom. It's too weord to call her Ms. Lynn when that's what people call my mom, especially her students. My mom's a preschool teacher. His dad is Martin, Jr. and he's the third. So they share the same name. It would also be weird for me to call him Mr. Martin. So, mom & dad it is! |

With my ex, I just called them by their first names. His mother went to far as to refer to me as her daughter (she'd known me for 9yrs.), but I just couldn't bring myself to call her "mom". |

Thats terrible! I just hate it when people who don't take the time to get to know you spend the extra effort to be doges for no reason. Has she always been this way to you, or did she begin after some kind of incident? Either way I hope she eventually knocks it off. |

She's very set in her ways and Anj is this outstanding student and she wants a really studious, prim girl for him. I had the unfortunate luck of meeting her for the first time when we were back from a pretty gritty party and I had on really revealing clothes (to her, to me they were just cute) and I was a little, um, happy According to Anj, I didn't do anything heinously wrong, but she has that image forever imprinted in her opinion of me. Although really I'm very responsible and mature. It's so unfair because my mom adores my boyfriend and has always been really accepting of him. |

Thats terrible. Well, you do sound incredibly smart and mature, so hopefully after more time has passed she will decide she's stuck with you for a while and will ease up a bit. Or at least thats what I hope when I'm in that situation. |

So do I. In extreme turn of events, I may even bake her my famous peanut butter and M & M brownies |

The M&M and Peanut butter brownies should definitely seal the deal! That sounds soooo good right now. |

Sounds like someone could use a batch |
