Once I start looking at it, I find it very difficult to drag myself away. It isn't very interesting really, but for some reason I find it very compelling. I wonder how much the imagery conveys about what is really happening.

Just a note to Nthensome-my sister doesn't live with me so she couldn't defrag the computer here, it's not even mine, it's my roommates and the library staff does all the maintenance including defragging at the library. That's not something patrons are allowed to do.

I'm on my way to forum! Oh and the gift. I've been working on it for about a month now already amongst my busy lifestyle.

Okay I'll reveal what it is. Its some cross-stitch embroidery. Hardly a common hobby for a young(!) man in the city but I find nothing more relaxing than curling up on the sofa in the evening stitching into the night. And when it finally is finished please know that every stitch will have been stitched with love and affection.

Okay secret confession. When I first came on this site in October I saw that you did the styrofoam things. Then it got to about December and I got to know you really well and I really wanted one. But I could say could I really. Then I saw people come and get styrofoam and I sat there waiting. Then finally it was like I got the dabprovin seal of approval and that's why I was so happy to get my parcel on Monday. How stupid am I?

How cute! **pinches your cheeks** I love You!! Please take
your time. It's supposed to be relaxing project, not to be
rushed with. But I SO know what you mean,a form of therapy
so to speak. I surround myself with MANY projects (all at
the same time) that bring me great pleasure doing cause it
is (for that very reason) relaxing & un-stressful. The only
stressful part of it is the packing & mailing of them, that
I find nerve racking! **freaks out just thinking of all the
things I've put on hold today, just to go on line.**

But yes & will (& already do) feel ohhhh so VERY special,
knowing that someone as kind, sweet & loving as you **pinches
your cheeks** took the time out,to MAKE "ME" "Cleo",something
with his very two,own busy little hands. * smile *

AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW! Now you've
gone & done it,you made me cry.**wipes the happy tears away,
off of her cheeks**

I had NO idea that my styrofoam names, where so sot after by
some of the SC users. How weird! & on that note....I had no
idea that you secretly longed for your very own styrofoam
name either. * frown * Awwww you poor baby!! Had I known that
earlier,I
would've made you one for Christmas. * smile * Instead of waiting
this long to get yours now. * frown * That's cute tho, what you said
about the dabprovin seal of approval. * smile * Awwwww!
& your not stupid it's me! When you posted you comment in
Forum stating, that you had finally received your styrofoam name, cuteasabutton didn't have a clue as to what everyone
was talking about. Poor baby! * frown * So anyways, kate asked me
if I would make "cute" her name also.

But of course!

I want everyone here at SC,to have one.....eventually. * smile *
I usually go from survey to survey personally asking SC
users
if they would like to have their names done. As of yet,my
offer to do 4 SC user names has been turned down. * frown *
**making me feel all insecure** Not bad really.
Considering that I've made at least 8 or 9 times that number,
for those who DID want their names sculpted. * smile *
What a loss for them,cause
they'll never know, what their names might have looked like
in their favorite colors, sculpted out of a sheet,of your
everyday, throw away (in my case recycled) styrofoam.Perhaps
they'll take me up on my last & final offer in the near
future. * smile *

So I move on to the next SC person & ask again. Ah! This
person wants their name! Yay! * smile * **feeling all loved &
wanted again** I trot happily off to start another SC
users name. * smile *

I see now that, that way is taking WAY to long, for everyone
who wants one,to get a name.
So now,I've been pondering the thought of doing something
about that.....soon. Like this weekend or next week
hopefully. * smile * You'll see. * wink * You'll see what I mean. * wink *
Gotta run dear! I'm off to the post office before they get
too crowded....or worse ,close on me.

Maybe they're embarrassed to say yes (or maybe that's just a British thing) I know I would have been if you had asked me when I soon came to SC. It takes me about 3-4 months to come out of my shell (but worth the wait though)

As you can imagine it makes dating a problem. Infact I'm currently having that issue now with some Australian guy I'm seeing at the moment.

But anyway - I only said yes because we had communicated and joked and talked. You knew my flaws and imperfections. I knew yours - well I don't have list you understand but I know you have concerns about stuff and that makes you lovely.

If some jolly stranger bounced up to me baring gifts then I would get all stiff upper-lipped and British and politely decline their generous offer then ask them to step aside so I can be on my way thank you very much.

Us Brits eh?

While you are using your computer, various files get added and deleted. What happens is you wind up with files scattered around on your hard drive.

When you defragment, the files are scanned, then re-written so that associated files are adjacent. This helps to speed things up and make it more efficient. So yes, compact = faster and better. Cleaning out the useless stuff you have to do as a separate activity. Best to do it first.

Print this, it would be a good thing to run the disk defrag if you've never done that: from the desktop, double-click "My Computer", right-click your c:\ drive icon, select "Properties", click on the tab (top) called "Tools". Assuming you have Windows and a pc-type - not Mac-type computer, it is here that you'll find three things you should be in practice of running for your computer. (Disk Defrag is the bottom option, but you should cleanup first.)
...Wha-- why are your eyes...fluttering like that? Is there something in your eye, Biggles? Well stop it, it's gross. jk!(=Just Kidding) But, seriously, your computer will love you long-time if you do those few things for it. * smile *

Is that why my computer is downloading slower now??? Cause I sure have added a lot of sites to my BAR "Favorites" Something like 80 something or more. Haha.
I defrag my computer at work weekly, and mine at home everyday. You could go to your "Files, Find" and type *.tmp in the entry box and click "Find" to search out all useless files on your system, then highlight and delete them all.
Then follow the Defrag instructions. That will definitely improve the performance of your computer. "Fragmented files" are files that have been "broken up" when saved because of edits, reserved workspace, etc. The Defrag utility sort of rewrites these files and brings them all to some sort of logical sequence, freeing up the space but - mostly - easing the readability of them.
Giver her a whirl and let me know how it goes. * smile *

The main confusing points is me asking you to type things in but without the star symbol *. I had to put the star symbol in otherwise it would convert it into a picture and you wouldn't be able to read what I wrote.

Like this

Right Lesson 3 is called 'How to copy and paste'

Are you ready!

Good. Now to copy text and put it somewhere else you first need to highlight the text by dragging you mouse across the text.

Once you have highlighted the text you then hold down the 'CTRL' and then press 'C'. Okay? Now you have temporarily saved the text.

To paste the text you need put your cursor where you want the text to be placed. Then hold down the 'CTRL' key and press 'V'.

Right - now for your first task I want you to reply a message to me and copy and paste the following text

I'm currently telling your classmate, NthenSome off! There's always one student in the Dino School of Computer Excellence who has to be the mischievous one.

Please don't follow his example - your teacher's pet at the moment.
