| Dino | posted 17-May-2002 5:51am No, not yet. I shall wait for the crowds to die down first and then go to a late showing when there are no kids in the audience and hopefully get a seat with no-one sitting in front or either side of me or behind me - maybe I should stop using deoderant! |
| grmbrand | posted 17-May-2002 8:32am I saw it yesterday, and got pretty much what I expected. I really enjoy the Star Wars universe, but Lucas' crappy writing and directing doesn't hold a candle to the places my imagination has taken his* ideas. *Actually, the first Star Wars is oft considered to be Akira Kurosawa's idea, realized in his film, The Hidden Fortress. |
| Enheduanna | posted 17-May-2002 9:32am No. My SO downloaded it and I saw about three minutes of it. He watched the whole thing. Is it actually out now? |
| msgman | posted 17-May-2002 10:06am Not yet. I probably will, but I'm not exactly wetting myself with excitement in the meantime. |
| roozle | posted 17-May-2002 10:12am Not in a big hurry to see it, I'm sure it will come my way eventually. |
| dlp34 | posted 17-May-2002 10:22am I would never camp out. C'mon the show is going to be there for a while. What's the difference if I see it today or two weeks from now? I don't care to wait in lines, so I'll probably wait a little while. Those people that camp out, just do it for more attention. "I was the first one to see it!", or "I've seen it already. I can't believe you haven't seen it yet." I love Star Wars, and I'll get around to seeing it, but what benefit do I have to see it right now? |
| ilsam | posted 17-May-2002 10:30am I went to the midnight showing. really good movie |
| ilsam | (reply to dlp34) posted 17-May-2002 10:32am I didn't camp out either, I reserved my seat |
| darkshadowsseeker | posted 17-May-2002 10:44am YES! |
| Gamera | posted 17-May-2002 11:01am Not yet. I will, but a bunch of us went to LOTR (again) last night, instead, as a kind of vote to indicate with $$ that we appreciate Jackson's approach to story-telling. |
| Dino | (reply to darkshadowsseeker) posted 17-May-2002 11:17am AND? |

| darkshadowsseeker | (reply to Dino) posted 17-May-2002 11:55am It was EXTREMELY COOL!!! |
| mandy | posted 17-May-2002 11:58am Is it out? |
| Biggles | posted 17-May-2002 1:43pm No. But I will go and see it. Not until after my exams though! |
| Biggles | (reply to Gamera) posted 17-May-2002 1:44pm I really wanted to go and see LoTR again but it didn't happen |
| southernyankee | posted 17-May-2002 2:27pm no, not yet. Its not one of my priotires. If i get a chance and have time to go to the movies, i would go see spiderman way before any star wars movie. I have nothing against star wars, i just dont particulary care for it. I think i saw parts of various star wars movies at one point in time or another. Maybe 2 and a half hours worth total. I don't particularly care for them too much. But even if was, i wouldn't camp out just to see it at midnight. I wouldn't want to wait the 6 hours in line to see it. I would much rather wait the 96 hours it would take for the lines to die down at my house doing more productive things like reading some book, reading a few articles from my ethics book that we havent gone over in class, listineing to my cds, listing to the radio, listihng to music on amazon.com, watching TV, answering my emails, answering surveys such as this, and sleeping. Anyway, i heard it wasn't that good from the John Stewart show. Oh, did you know that employers reported a $319 million loss in productivity due to peoople calling it sick just so they can go see the Stars Wars movie. Source: the Rod Ryan morning radio show. And he got his sources i am sure. |
| Zang | posted 17-May-2002 3:01pm I saw the first one back in '77. I wasn't that impressed. I never bothered to see any of the other ones. |
| teatree | posted 17-May-2002 3:13pm No, not yet. I'm waiting until the excitement dies down a bit. |
| teatree | (reply to mandy) posted 17-May-2002 3:15pm It was in theaters on Thursday, May 16th. |
| Oscar | posted 17-May-2002 4:41pm Not yet. |
| mandy | posted 17-May-2002 7:19pm I kinda wish it was attack of the clowns. That would be scary. |
| Galomorro | posted 17-May-2002 8:21pm I might go see it later when the lines go WAY down, with my neighbor, who has downloaded trailers. It looks pretty good. But no way would I stand in line or camp out for anything or anyone! |
| Frostbrand | posted 17-May-2002 11:12pm And I LOVED it! It was WAY better than Episode I. Yoda kicked some SERIOUS ass, the acting was a step-up, and even Jar Jar Binks was tolerable. And the music was great at foreshadowing what's going to happen (or trather DID happen) in the Original Trilogy. |
| bobofwestgate | posted 18-May-2002 1:47am Not yet. I might go see it after it's been in the theaters for awhile and after I talk to some of my friends and get their opinion. |
| freebird_old | posted 18-May-2002 4:58am I haven't seen it. I am not really into that type of film (sci-fi) but the effects and such look so good I may go see it. On the big screen even, to get the full effect. |
| justjulie | posted 18-May-2002 7:42am nope, really don't want to either, especially if that jar jar thing is in it again |
| justjulie | (reply to mandy) posted 18-May-2002 7:45am bahahahahaha!!!yeah, that would be scary |
| Biggles | (reply to Frostbrand) posted 18-May-2002 8:36am Did Jar Jar Binks have a big part? I heard that it was just a cameo from one source but that he was a mojor character from another. He didn't half wind me up before! Glad you enjoyed it, I'm really looking forward to going to see it, but that won't be until July |

| cuteasabutton | posted 18-May-2002 1:57pm Not yet. I am sure I will eventually though. |
| cuteasabutton | posted 18-May-2002 2:00pm If I never do see Lord of the Rings, it will be too soon. I hate when I hear about a movie over, and over, and over, and over, and over again!!!!!!! |
| mandy | (reply to justjulie) posted 18-May-2002 6:43pm BOO! *honks her little red nose* |
| Frostbrand | (reply to Biggles) posted 19-May-2002 12:01am Jar Jar was in for a few minutes, and his voice was still childish, but he didn't trip over naything, knock anything over, or otherwise make a fool of himself. In fact, I felt so sorry for him becuase (future) Emperor Palpatine basically tricked Jar Jar into auhtorizing the Republic's Clone Army, which leads to the Clone Wars. Jar Jar handed power to the bad guy and didn't even know it, poor thing. |
| justjulie | (reply to mandy) posted 19-May-2002 8:35am heh heh heh!!! |
| Biggles | (reply to Frostbrand) posted 19-May-2002 10:08am Wow! So good it's even made you feel sorry for Jar Jar Binks! |

| bri_jared04 | posted 17-Jun-2002 11:08pm star wars was a 5 star compared to Spiderman im still trying to figure out why i went to spiderman and spent 5 dollars on it. |
| Frostbrand | (reply to bri_jared04) posted 19-Jun-2002 12:51am Cause it's the best Comic Book turned movie ever? |
