More than 5 * smile *

1- "Sabrina the Teenage Witch". Don't like it now, but was obsessed with it when 11 or so on that great TGIF thing ABC did. What a terrific idea.

2- "The Nanny". Didn't watch it until it was in sindication, but love it anyway. It's so overdone and cultish.

3- "Dark Angel". For obvious reasons > * smile *

4- "Friends". Just because everyone else loves it.

5- "The Osbournes". New favorite. Obsessed out of any reasonable limit. Love Sharon best, but adore Ozzy as well * smile *

6- "E! News Daily". So frothy and pretentious it's fantastic.

7- "Becoming". That's what it's all about, man. That's why anyone should get into the music business. To see some kid in their sophomore college year crying because they get to do a sincerely adoring parody of your video.

8- "Fashion Emergency". They always look worse in the end, it's amazing. But Leon Hall is fabulous.

9- "Spin City". Who, I repeat, who doesn't love Charlie?

10- Anything with Joan and Melissa Rivers. Why is it that I care so much what these overly unattractive and unintelligent women think?

 * wink *

Perry Mason was on from 1957 to 1966 (The original starring Raymond Burr). You couldn't possibly be talking about "The New Adventures Of Perry Mason" with Monte Markam?! That show was cancelled in 1974 after one dreadful season. I don't think I know anyone that actually watched an entire episode. It sucked!

1- Murder, She Wrote (and yet I'm really only 22)
2- All In The Family (such a scary reminder of where I came from)
3- CSI
4- Osbournes
5- Tales From The Crypt (I never had HBO so I had to watch it at like 2am, but I loved it).
Honorable Mention-Survivor (we all need a little drama, and some of the contestants are so pitiful it makes me feel good.)

I can't do this! I'm going to forget something that I love * frown * In no particular order (well B5 is certainly first, but after that in no particular order).....

1) Babylon 5
2) The West Wing
3) Homicide: Life on the Street
4) Stargate: SG1
5) Farscape

And I'm adding a sixth one because I don't want to leave it off my list!

6) Blake's 7

Homourable mention goes to PREY for being my internet catalyst and introducing me to the idea of internet communities (without which I may never have progressed to SC!)

I have a really funny pain because I know that I've missed off a lot of wonderful shows - things that I really enjoy. I can't think what all of them are right now though! Things like Reboot, Night and Day (I've only recently started watching that - I love it!), The Simpsons, Malcolm in the Middle, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Grange Hill (it's really bad, but I like it), Frasier, So Graham Norton, Have I Got News For You (new series starting tonight), ER, Chicago Hope, Black Books, Spaced, Quantum Leap, Teachers, 24 (but I don't think it's nearly as good as people make out - not in the same league as West Wing!), The X-Files (well, the early series anyway), Dark Skies, C4 News (okay, a little sad but it's the best news that I've ever seen!), At Home With the Braithwaites, American Gothic.......etc.

I think I'm a little over the stipulated 5!

While I'm going on at length, I might as well add that I'd love to see a tv adaptation of UFO: Enemy Unknown (X-Com everywhere but here). It's my all-time favourite computer game (even beats my usual favourite point-and-clicks and *even* Fallout II!) and it would translate so well to a tv series. A bit Space: Above an Beyond, but better! (Note that S:AAB is *not* on my list!!!)

Oh yeah -- since it was supposed to be only FIVE shows, I realized after I'd put down Perry Mason that I liked AbFab a helluva LOT better, so put that instead. I actually DO like the 70s Perry Mason better than the older one, but I liked the older one too. I didn't know it was called "The New Adventures... with Monte Markham..." There was this curly-haired blond dude that was Perry's assistant in the 70s ones. I haven't seen one of either of these shows in a while, however.

The American Christians didn't like the fact that the main character was bad, and quite possibly evil or even the devil. oh really??? I had no idea, obviously. i'm pretty much a "new-bee" at watching and learning and figuring it out...i never really had much interest in such things until recently...i just have a great appreciation for these things now, the history mainly....
i guess what made me thought that some of it was a bunch of crap, is w/ some items like native american artifacts and things...personally, i would think that the "value" on such item would be rather great, but every time i've seen such objects, they have all been extremely low in value...just doesn't make any sence to me as to why a beautful detailed piece of pottery, for say, is only worth a couple thousand bucks, and then you see something form france dating around 1850,for say, and the value is simply astronomical! worth like a couple 10's of thousands of dollars....it just doesn't make any sence to me....can you shed some light on this subject???

The european stuff was from name brand designers and commissioned for specific patrons. It was more of a 'high art', not a 'craft' something every 14th person in the family did. Also it involved tools and materials from all over the world (japan, holland, etc.) to achieve a vast range of colors. They were made for the rich in the first place. The european pottery for the masses doesn't even appear on the show and can't be identified well. At least that's my take on it.

ahhhh...ok i'm beginning to understand now.
i see that stuff made for the rich is still made for the rich, makes sence.
i guess i still don't quite understand as to why native american stuff isn't worth more...i understand that they were poor, so acording to what you just said that makes sence that way, but i still don't get it. oh well. thank you my friend, i appreciate it.
