| LindaH | posted 8-Apr-2002 12:45pm I don't work, but at my last job, my work was all based on what time it was. I had to check my watch all the time anyway. |
| Dino | posted 8-Apr-2002 12:52pm About an hour after my colleague comes back from her meal break. I go 12-1. Then I cover the receptionist 1-2. Then my mate goes on hers 2-3. Then around about an hour after I start clock watching. |
| teatree | posted 8-Apr-2002 1:19pm I not in the work force at this moment because of health problems, but I was never a clock watcher when I did work. |
| CarolL | posted 8-Apr-2002 1:27pm Around 4pm and I leave at 4:30. |
| Jemmy | posted 8-Apr-2002 3:06pm I don't work, but if this can apply to school, it depends on the day. |
| jettles | posted 8-Apr-2002 3:35pm maybe a couple of hours after lunch. i work 12 hr shifts so, watching the clock just makes it worse! |
| confetti | posted 8-Apr-2002 5:10pm Every second of the day except for recess, Math and French |
| mandy | posted 8-Apr-2002 8:41pm Around 2...I get off at 2:15. |
| mimind | posted 8-Apr-2002 8:57pm a few minutes before breaks, and a few minutes before i leave for the day. |
| mimind | (reply to confetti) posted 8-Apr-2002 9:01pm i never got recess in high school, just lunch in the commons, where are you from again? |
| moonstone | posted 8-Apr-2002 10:26pm I may as well not ever look at a clock. My clock is my 8 month old. When he's up, I'm up. And when he sleeps, I'm still up or doing whatever else I have to do. Time doesn't matter to me right now. All I know is that it goes by way to fast. |
| confetti | (reply to mimind) posted 8-Apr-2002 10:29pm I'm in Costa Rica. We have exactly 45 minutes of recess a day...but our school days are longer. |
| Zang | posted 8-Apr-2002 10:49pm Well, I'm not really working right now, but when I am I HATE clock-watchers who keep reporting how much time we have left. Whether I love my job, or I just tolerate it, I prefer not to look at the time while working. It is always better to just concentrate on the duties at hand. The clock won't moving any faster if you watch it. In fact, I find that the day seems to drag on forever when someone keeps telling me how much longer we are on shift. |
| HareKrishna | posted 8-Apr-2002 10:51pm I lokk @ my watch. |
| darkshadowsseeker | (reply to moonstone) posted 9-Apr-2002 2:25am What's the clock's name? |
| Cain | posted 9-Apr-2002 9:33am None of the above really, becuase I'm on a timetable at university so I'm in for different times everyday. Last summer I worked in a car park from 9 til 5. The mornnig was alright, the afternoon would drag and the hour between 3 and 4 was unbearable. The last hour was OK cos I knew I was almost there. |
| Biggles | posted 9-Apr-2002 12:49pm Because of the structure of my days (5 one hour lessons with an hour for dinner) it doesn't really work like that for me. When i start wishing was out of there depends on the lesson, what we're learning about, the teacher, whether I've done my homework, what period of the day it is and a whole host of other things! For example, I have double Politics on a Friday afternoon and that drags so much! I'm usually looking at my watch about 10 minutes into that 2 hours lesson wondering when it'll be time for my break then after break when it's hometime. I wait much more for my breaks than for hometime. I like breaktimes because I can talk with my friends |
| roozle | posted 9-Apr-2002 1:02pm It depends what I'm doing after work, how much I'm looking forward to it, and how tight a schedule I have to leave on. Sometimes, I start checking the time about 5 minutes after I really *need* to have left to stay on schedule, that's a pain. |
| juliw | posted 9-Apr-2002 7:24pm about an hour to an hour and a half before quitting time |
| moonstone | (reply to darkshadowsseeker) posted 9-Apr-2002 10:52pm Ethan |
| darkshadowsseeker | (reply to moonstone) posted 9-Apr-2002 11:54pm What times does his alarm go off? |
| Gamera | posted 10-Apr-2002 12:23am It goes the other way for me. I look at the clock and am anxious about how late it's gotten, because I still have to get so much more done before I can quit, or because I've made some evening commitment and I'll have to quit without getting as much done as I really wanted to. |
| SueBee | posted 10-Apr-2002 1:54am About 15 minutes before it's time to leave. Up until then I'm usually too busy to think about it much. This can vary from day to day though. There are days when I long to turn around and go home the moment I get to work! (and tomorrow will be one of them if I don't hurry off to bed soon) |
| moonstone | (reply to darkshadowsseeker) posted 10-Apr-2002 7:32am Well, this morning it was about 6:30...but there have been days around 4:45 a.m... |
| ASB | posted 10-Apr-2002 9:52am before I even get there |
| darkshadowsseeker | (reply to moonstone) posted 10-Apr-2002 11:20am Yeah, I remember that. I was so glad when mine learned to "sleep in". |
| cody | posted 11-Apr-2002 3:56am I actually kind of like my job. I usually arrive early. When I have a full day occasionally I'll get anxious but, eh. |
| moonstone | (reply to darkshadowsseeker) posted 11-Apr-2002 8:21am |
| darkshadowsseeker | (reply to moonstone) posted 11-Apr-2002 10:56am Of course that was a long time ago. He's 21 years old know, but he's still my baby. |
| icurok | posted 11-Apr-2002 2:35pm I don't watch the clock. Not because I love my job, and not because there are no clocks, but just because I'm too busy. One minute I'm writing a script and it's 3pm, the next minute I look up and its 5:30pm. |
| Biggles | posted 11-Apr-2002 2:37pm Today I started clock-watching half-an-hour into my first lesson. We were working through questions about ligands |
| grmbrand | posted 11-Apr-2002 5:24pm I'm not bound to the clock, but I definitely know when my train of thought leaves for the day... |
| Biggles | posted 12-Apr-2002 2:25pm I didn't clock-watch at all in my first lesson because it was chemistry with my really good teacher |
| southernyankee | posted 13-Apr-2002 12:34am about 2 hours before its time |
| NthenSome | (reply to grmbrand) posted 13-Apr-2002 2:26pm You have a pretty funny comment everywhere! I'm just now understanding how I'm able to reply to comments in my own surveys. I thought I had to wait until someone commented to me first. I like your funny comments! |
| grmbrand | (reply to NthenSome) posted 15-Apr-2002 9:22am Cheers. |
| Oscar | posted 20-Apr-2002 3:31pm I start at around 9:00 |
| natsim | posted 24-Apr-2002 1:04am I do look at the clock, but not like that. It's more like "Oh crap, it's 3pm and I haven't had lunch yet!" or "Damn, it's 6:30pm, and I was meant to leave half an hour ago". My work's pretty absorbing and busy. |
| they | posted 11-May-2002 4:24am The clock is on my computer and my phone.. I stare at it all day long.... ALL DAY LONG! |
