| Zang | (reply to confetti) posted 25-Mar-2002 1:58pm Roz Chast? What's that? |
| confetti | (reply to Zang) posted 25-Mar-2002 2:13pm I often feel like I'm the only dork who reads "The New Yorker" |
| confetti | (reply to Zang) posted 25-Mar-2002 2:13pm Whatever, it's a compliment |
| Zang | (reply to confetti) posted 25-Mar-2002 2:19pm I haven't seen a copy of "The New Yorker" for about 25 years. As I recall, the only thing worth looking at was the cartoons. |
| Kristal_Rose | (reply to SueBee) posted 25-Mar-2002 2:40pm My friend Tara's back in my life. We got stuffed at a fantastic dinner with thai wraps and a luau salad the night before, then she surprised me by showing up 3 minutes before midnight at the end of birthday too with a cake lit at my front door. |
| Kristal_Rose | (reply to Zang) posted 25-Mar-2002 2:45pm As I recall, even the cartoons were rather abysmal. I once sent them an article, a critique of my salad, hamburger, and desert, in the context of modern art. I went off about how the styles of tastes, colors, and textures resembled other artists, and how the tryptych was about eden, industrialized war society, and transcendance. |
| Jemmy | posted 25-Mar-2002 7:13pm Well, I don't think I know how old everyone here is, but I'll be 16 in about 2 weeks. |

| Jemmy | (reply to SueBee) posted 26-Mar-2002 9:59am I'm rushing out. If I get my beginners quickly, I can get in the april 14th classes. (My birthday is on the tenth). That means I'll be able to drive this summer with my real liscence. |

| darkshadowsseeker | (reply to Biggles) posted 2-Apr-2002 7:42pm Right now I'm not inclined to say how much wiser I am. I wasn't looking where I was going and stepped down off a single step wrong and ended up falling with my leg and foot folded under me. I ended up with a sprained foot. |

| Biggles | (reply to darkshadowsseeker) posted 3-Apr-2002 6:46am Ouch But wisdom can be present in a million different ways - you weren't looking where you were going. Maybe your mind was on higher matters? |

| Biggles | (reply to darkshadowsseeker) posted 3-Apr-2002 11:15am Darn! Ah well - my mind's been on much lower matters recently. (Don't look at me like that!) | Kristal_Rose | (reply to Cleo) posted 7-Apr-2002 12:40am Last night we went to a sushi restauraunt. The night in quenstion we feastedat a place called the cheesecake factory on Thai Wraps (chicken, veggies, and sweet/hot dips in a fuzzy lettuce tortilla), a Luaa Salad (mango, chicken, etc.), french-fries. We couldn't finish the cheesecake or cappucino, we were so bloated. |

| Kristal_Rose | (reply to Cleo) posted 7-Apr-2002 10:31am Yes, I, Kate, do eat at exotic restaurants. Fortunately they've been cheap too up until these last two. I guess it's to honer myrenewed friendship, but were going to have to back to the providence of finding spectacular values, I do believe. I never went out on dining dates till i met Tara, though. Not with my wife, or 2nd SO. |

| Cleo | (reply to darkshadowsseeker) posted 8-Apr-2002 1:41am But your better now ....... right??? Hope so. |
| Cleo | (reply to Kristal_Rose) posted 8-Apr-2002 1:46am I didn't answer them per-say. I just scrolled & deleted 75 percent of them. That wa the percent that was junk mail anyway. I answered 4 & put the others in folders.I doubt if I will ever get around to reading ALL of the ones in folders tho. Someday,I think I may have to just end up deleting them too. Hope not.....you know what a packrat I am. |
| Kristal_Rose | (reply to Cleo) posted 8-Apr-2002 2:34am Yeah, I've also graduated to instantly deleting email, like conference invitations with less than a 1% chance of my attending. |
| Cleo | (reply to Kristal_Rose) posted 8-Apr-2002 3:04am Yep! Exactly what I do too. |
| darkshadowsseeker | (reply to Cleo) posted 8-Apr-2002 11:06am Actually I'm wheezing pretty badly right now, but not from anything you did. I took the garbage rollcan to the curb (pickup is Monday morning) and the high pollen count (mostly tree) set me to wheezing and coughing. |
| Biggles | posted 8-Apr-2002 11:07am *stomps foot* 18!!!! |
| Cleo | (reply to darkshadowsseeker) posted 8-Apr-2002 11:38pm Oh My God Kate!!!! What do you take for it??? My allegies aren't THAT bad. I'm just allergic to my cats & Easter Lilly'S. Sound to me tha toyu & your sister have it pretty darn bad. |
| darkshadowsseeker | (reply to Cleo) posted 9-Apr-2002 1:19am I take Actifed which is an OTC allergy medication, but not during the day. It makes me too sleepy to function if I do that. The funny thing is that I allergic to a lot of allergy medications. The pollen count (right now is trees) is particularly high this year as Spring came almost a month and a half early this year. The allergies also trigger my asthma as well. Connie doesn't have nearly as serious allergies as I do, but her asthma is much worse than mine. She has to take the steroid type asthma medication and I only have to use an inhaler during allergy season when the pollen count is high. The reason it bothered me so much this morning is that pollen counts are typically higher before 10 a.m. (I took the can out about 7:00 a.m.) and in the evening hours. As you can imagine, I have a lot of allergies and it doesn't help that there are so many trees in the area (poplar tree pollen is currently the highest). |
