| RayB | posted 8-Mar-2002 2:40pm I think they should first be studied and then immediately executed. |
| jettles | posted 8-Mar-2002 2:46pm imprisoned for life but studied as well. i don't believe in the death penalty thus............ my answer! |
| Enheduanna | posted 8-Mar-2002 2:51pm You've already said they were imprisoned. Do you mean "convicted"? If they're convicted, I think they should be imprisoned for life. I don't believe we should have a death penalty. |
| dora | posted 8-Mar-2002 4:34pm Life imprisonment and psychiatric help. |
| Biggles | posted 8-Mar-2002 4:46pm Certainly not executed, but given an imprisonment or hospital order that is appropriate. |
| anonymous | (reply to Enheduanna) posted 8-Mar-2002 5:13pm Sorry, I meant to say convicted. |
| Jemmy | posted 8-Mar-2002 5:19pm Are they not already imprisoned? |
| Dino | posted 8-Mar-2002 5:52pm Imprisoned for life. I do not believe in the death penalty and I object to medical experiments like that. The person is still a living being after all. |
| confetti | posted 8-Mar-2002 6:55pm Medically studied and kept under custody. But with humanic treatment. And no heart-warming Miramax movies should be allowed to be made of them |
| magazineboy | posted 8-Mar-2002 8:12pm Are you looking for justice? How about, "Locked in a room for one hour with the families of their victims?" |
| Oscar | posted 8-Mar-2002 10:06pm Executed |
| Amanda | posted 8-Mar-2002 10:52pm Life in prison without parole. If they agree, then they could be medically studied, but I don't think they should be without their consent. I'm against the death penalty in any case, so that would be a big, fat NO! |
| dab | (reply to magazineboy) posted 8-Mar-2002 11:11pm That's not justice, it's just revenge. For a crime like that, justice is not possible; nothing can put things right. You can, however, prevent the killer from killing again and do so in a way that you don't become just as bad. |
| juliw | posted 9-Mar-2002 2:30pm Imprisoned for life. I have very mixed emotions about capital punishment. |
| Zang | posted 10-Mar-2002 1:33pm ...taken on a case-by-case basis. It seems a bit silly to me to try to make the system uniform throughout. There should be some consistency, but not at the expense of individual circumstances. As far as I know, executing criminals is a rather barbaric punishment that is no longer practiced in civilised nations. |

| natsim | posted 30-Apr-2002 10:36pm While in prison they should be offered rehabilitation including counselling, medical help, education, whatever it takes to help them see the wrong in their actions. If the families are able, then some sort of "restorative justice" programme should be entered into, where they see the consequences of their action, and if the families wish can do some service that would help the victims' families. http://www.restorativejustice.org/rj3/intro_default.htm |
