i used to be, but they all died. |
| Lahdee |
I'd like to have plants but I live in a virtual dungeon where they'd never get any sunlight. |
| justjulie |
yes, i have only a couple right now |
| Oscar |
I don't even have fake plants in my house. I'm going to this summer though. |

NO, I'm too irresponsible to care for a living thing. |

NOPE |

Well yes. For the most part I am the care taker of the house plants. Except for when one dies, then Mimind helps put by taking them out to the trash! He is also the sole caretaker for those "mold in the bathroom houseplants". |

I have 6 cacti on my bedroom window-ledge. |
Enheduanna | | posted 8-Feb-2002 11:27am |
Far too many of them. I went on sort of a rampage when I first got my place, and now I have lots of plants. I've been trying to give some of them away. |
| justjulie |
i'd be more than happy to take some off your hands. i'll be really good to them; talk to them, sing to them, feed them, call them by their name... |

Yes, only 2 though. I want more. |
| confetti |
confetti's sole houseplant: a baby cactus about the size of a pepper mill. Sprinkle water on it once a year and that's it.
I love cactuses. I love the desert. I'm thinking of going to college in New Mexico or Arizona. They're such odd and beautiful places. |

*handing you a peace lily and a Swedish ivy* Here you go... |

No, the last time I housesat for my sister all her plants under my care died. I have a black thumb! |
| justjulie |
thank you thank you thank you!!!!! do they already have names, or do i have to ask them what they want their names to be? |
| justjulie |
***makes mental note: never ask kate to plant sit! or kitty sit! or babysit!*** |
Enheduanna | | (reply to justjulie) posted 8-Feb-2002 3:00pm |
You should probably ask them. Most of my plants don't have names; only the ones that have particularly strong personalities have revealed their names to me. |
| justjulie |
ok, thanks. are they particular to any types of music? |
| darkshadowsseeker | | (reply to justjulie) posted 8-Feb-2002 3:12pm |
I've babysat and petsat many times. I have no problems with babies or animals, but with houseplants I do. |
Enheduanna | | (reply to justjulie) posted 8-Feb-2002 3:12pm |
Nope. |
| Jemmy |
I hope not, because if so, I haven't been doing a good job! |
| mandy |
Yes, three rather large, very forgiving plants |
| kaleb777 |
All my plants live in the ground. |

I have lots of houseplants. Three spider plants in the bathroom. 14 in the main room of a tiny studio apartment. 11 pots with multiple plants in them (some are large pots) in the sunny south-facing kitchen. 23 pots on the windowsill and hanging over the rail of the fire escape, but some of the pots have more than one herb in them. |

No. I kill plants. My friend gave me a jade plant a few years ago. Big mistake. I tried my damnedest to keep it alive. Eventually I gave up and returned it to her before it was completely toast. I have a strong preference for dried flower arrangements. |

I have some outdoor plants, that are now indoor plants, because of the weather. When spring rolls around I'll,put them back out. Which reminds me,I need to turn on the light for them. When it comes to house plants,I seem to always end up killing them somehow.I just have no luck, with house plants.David is more responsible that way.My problem is either over watering or under watering. Can't win!!I have some indoor plants, that I bought several months ago,& they're still the same size, but with less leaves. |

Yes, one. I planted some mimosa seeds and the plant is sooo nice! I love it! |
| justjulie |
ok... |
| mrsbbear | | posted 19-Feb-2002 4:10pm |
Yes, right now a fuchsia which is re-growing after being cut down and dormant for a couple of months, and a few Pothos ivy plants. I hope to have Tulips and Daffodils to enjoy this Spring, and herbs, pansies, impatiens, petunias, and geraniums this Summer, but they are mostly Porch plants, not houseplants. |
| mrsbbear | | (reply to Lahdee) posted 19-Feb-2002 4:14pm |
You can have houseplants even in a virtual dungeon, if you choose plants that are shade-hardy. Victorians used to grow Cast Iron plants in their dark, musty parlors for that very reason. Look into it, you will find that there is a houseplant for every situation. Pothos Ivy are not really ivy, but a tropical climber, but they are pretty, very easy to grow, and don't require direct sunlight, which is why they do well in offices where there is only fluorescent light. |

I dropped a large potted plant on the floor today. I'm hoping it will survive. I had to prune it way back because it was so broken. I'm a klutz! |
| lara | | (reply to mandy) posted 20-Feb-2002 1:27pm |
do you have PMS this week too, or are you just generally klutzy? in either case, you should come over to my house tonight - we're having a PMS party! |
| mandy | | (reply to lara) posted 20-Feb-2002 8:30pm |
No PMS, just a bum shoulder and not enough sense to rest it! Have fun at your party! Don't pop too many Midol |
