I love Madonna songs. Not too sure about the singer but I love her songs. Favourite I guess it still 'Crazy For You'. Hard to pick just one. |

"Sky Fits Heaven"
"Live to Tell" was my "song" with this boy in high school whom I had a crazy crush on. He had a girlfriend, so much madness ensued. |

I LOVE THEM ALL!!!! MADONNA RULES!!!!! I just have to comment on some of the outstanding ones. "Vogue" has one of the catchiest choruses ever. "Take a bow" has jaw-droppingly beautiful vocals. "The Power of goodbye" has a gorgeous interlude. "Frozen" has world beat at its very best. "What it feels like for a girl" has another incredible interlude. They are just amazing. Madonna has an interesting voice but her strength is a knack for picking the best composers and producers. She's got it made. Britney (although I love her as well) and the rest of 'em can't even touch her. |

The only song I really care for by Madonna is "Don't Cry for me Argentina" from Evita and that's because she wasn't singing in her usual style. She had to take lessons so she could sing appropriately for a musical, her regular style of singing wouldn't have worked in Evita. |

I recently dated a woman who was a card carrying member of the Madonna fan club, if you can believe it. One would think that a 38 year old woman would have better things to do with herself. I picked "Ray Of Light". I would describe my attitude towards Madonna as "tolerant". As far as pop music goes, for the last 20 years, I'd say she was alright. |

Not sure because I have not heard enough of her stuff. Have heard only some older ones. |

It's hard to choose a favorite, but I can't think of any that I like more than Ray of Light. I've always loved Express Yourself, too. |

I like a lot of them so it's hard to choose. The first one that comes to mind is Papa Don't Preach. |
Kristal_Rose | | (reply to Dino) posted 4-Feb-2002 12:45pm |
I thought that (Express Yourself) might be the one with lyrics 'express yourself, don't repress yourself', not 'make him express himself' |
| spidertea |
I like most of them, can't pick a favorite. |

This is the most profound song that she has ever done. It is amazing.
Luck is running out of time You're not in love with me anymore I wish that it would change But it won't Cause you don't Love me no more
You need so much but not from me Turn your back in my hour of need Somethings wrong but you pretend You don't see I think I interrupt your life When you laugh it cuts me just like a knife I'm not your friend I'm just your little wife
We never laugh Not like before She takes the keys He brakes the door She cannot stay here anymore He's not in love with her anymore
The bruises they will fade away You hit so hard with the things you say I will not stay to watch your hate as it grows You're not in love with someone else You don't even love yourself Still I wish you'd ask me not to go
He takes a drink She goes inside He starts to scream The vases fly He wishes that she wouldn't cry He's not in love with her anymore
He makes demands She draws the line He starts to fight She starts to lie What is true when something dies He's not in love with her anymore
She's had enough She says 'The End' But she'll go back She knows it then A chance to start it all again TIL' DEATH DO US PART.

It's a passionate archetype that some people unfortunatly live to some extent, no doubt, but profound is a relative term. I suppose since she normally doesn't describe insights in other songs, you have a point, but ray of light or like a prayer point towards what I personally consider more profound subjects. |
| Oscar |
what song is that? |
| cuteasabutton |
I was comparing that to her other more bubble-gummy songs when I used that description. I find it very poinant, and it also touches me every time I hear it. I suppose I should have used a different word to describe. |
| cuteasabutton | | (reply to Oscar) posted 4-Mar-2002 1:48pm |
It is called "Til' Death do us Part" and you can find it on "Like a Prayer." |
Kristal_Rose |
and I should have better things to do then be nit-picking on the usage of 'profound'. |
| cuteasabutton |
I agree! |

Glad that's settled. |
