Just hair stuff when I was younger (except perm good grief!) Now I just go to a barbers and get a buzz cut. |

A few of these. When exams are over, a few friends and I are going to go to this lace in the mall and get make-overs! |

Well, I've had my hair washed/cut/styled, and I've had a full body wax. Anything else has been at home. I amaze friends by doing perfect nails while we race around in the car. (I tried doing it while bicycling, but that was a bit out of range.) I also spent time working in SF, and bicycle camping up the coast, so doing make up on a subway or bus without a mirror is no trick either. |

I've never been in a "salon." |

Oh, I thought you meant saloon. Gee, that changes things. |

I've gotten my hair buzzed before, until I got mature and figured out that seven to ten dollars is a lot to pay when I could buzz it myself for free. |

Oh, in a salon. I've never been in one, either. But the basic point remains, I guess.
Biggles-Saloons are were they have Old West gun fights. He-he... |

What? I know what a saloon is....... |

None of these-I don't go to salons. When I was younger my grandmother would give my sister and me home permanents and a cousin gave us trims and cuts. My sister went to cosmotology school is a licensed cosmotologist and takes care of my hair for free. |

Hair colour (cherry-black), highlights (golden), haircut (a gazillion ways), blowdry, hair was, hair perm (eeech, don't make me remember 7th grade). In case you're wondering what the stuff on my head looks like, it's very nice, soft, dark brown and straight. And manicure.
I don't really trust anyone except for myself to do plucking and waxing and sunless-tanning and facials. And I'm way too young for massages. |

Had my nails done for fake nails in a natural-looking "Pink and White" look. It was really quite impressive, though they took a lot of getting used to. Unfortunately, they started popping off, taking the top layer of my nail with them, when I had to carry heavy crates while moving. The nails were too long to fit in the nook where I had to grip the crates, and the pressure hurt a great deal and ruined them, leaving my nails very thin and weak also, even more so than usual. They were very pretty and very durable (except for the crates!) but I do too much with my hands. Maybe I will try them again someday, because my husband and I like the look, but in that case, he will have to do the heavy lifting himself. A woman can't be expected to do a man's work and have hands that don't show it. |

I can't think of what to say (which is a miracle) Did your mom just slap a cereal bowl on your head and cut around it? |
| Biggles | | (reply to confetti) posted 30-Jan-2002 1:44pm |
No, you can get your hair cut professionally without going to a "salon." I tend to think of salons as being for more than one thing. I mostly go to a very basic hairdresser. A lot of the time I've been to a barber. |

Mmmmm- chest massage for women? Sign me up! lol
I have had all of that stuff done to my hair, and have also preformed all of those hair treatments to other people. I have had acrylic nails done in a salon- but do them myself now. Oh- and I hate those 7-10$ hair butcher places. You get what you pay for. |

I use to tan in the 80's. Other than that, just the basic hair stuff. |

I guess it's different in G. Britain. Hi! I passed my Computer Lab test. The chem went pretty well, although I don't know if I passed or not yet. But yay!!! Half-way into ninth grade. |

You accidentely typed in "saloon" instead of "salon" in your reply. I was just trying to be silly. If you typed in "saloon" on purpose, I missed it. |

Ohhh, It was kristal_rose who typed "saloon" instead of "salon". Sorry Biggles. |

Manicure, wash, cut and blow-dry. I've had quite a few of the others, but not in a salon.

Most of the hair stuff. Once, on a cruise I went to the ship's spa and got a facial/massage combo. It was INCREDIBLE. It was expensive, but OH MY GOD! |
