The water in my kitchen taste better cause,it's filtered! If I drink bathroom sink water,I have to drink the first couple minutes of it,cause after that, the rest taste like pipes & chlorine.Yuck!! |

The water in my bathroom has always tasted sweeter than the water in the kitchen. This has been true of every house I've lived in!! I've always wondered why. |
| darkshadowsseeker | | posted 22-Jan-2002 1:20am |
Kitchen water always tastes better than bathroom water, but don't ask me why! |
| confetti | | posted 22-Jan-2002 1:49am |
The water from my shower tastes disgusting. But when you've worked out, water from your bathroom tastes much better than water from the kitchen. |

Interesting this survey came out today because my flat mate was drinking from the tap in the bathroom and I told him it was different water from the tap in the kitchen |

Silly question. But "I never tasted the water in my bathroom while I had a kitchen", if you wish. |
| ASexyBabe | | posted 22-Jan-2002 7:12am |
yes!!!! I thought I was the only one that noticed!!! |
| grmbrand | | posted 22-Jan-2002 7:30am |
Tricky question to answer right now The kitchen is totally gutted for remodelling, leaving us with only one working sink that we daren't drink out of... |

The water from the bathroom is always ice cold so I like that more. |
| Dino | | posted 22-Jan-2002 8:07am |
The bathroom water tastes worse. I think its psychological though! |

lead pipes? |
CarolL | | posted 22-Jan-2002 10:14am |
I don't know why that is, but I've always said that. In the bathroom it's sooooo much colder than I can ever coax from the kitchen faucet. |
| anoddoblivion | | posted 22-Jan-2002 10:25am |
I've not noticed. |

I don't drink our tap water, it kills. |
| Biggles | | posted 22-Jan-2002 1:12pm |
Yes, but it isn't a case of better or worse. |

I have never tasted the water in the bathroom in my new house (except brushing teeth which doesn't count).. But in past experience, water from the kitchen tap is always better. |
| natsim | | (reply to romkey) posted 22-Jan-2002 4:40pm |
I hope not! Actually, no... the house I grew up in was too new to have lead pipes. |
| kaleb777 | | posted 22-Jan-2002 6:12pm |
I think the water in the bathroom is cooler and tastes better because it's harder to taste chlorine in cool water. |
southernyankee | | posted 22-Jan-2002 6:17pm |
I have something else... The water in my bathroom and my kitchen definatly taste different from each other but I can't say that one tastes better than the other. The one in my bathroom tastes a bit sweeter then the one in my kitchen, but the one in my kitchen tasted more refreshing. But I don't drink a lot of water(not directly that is) so I really can't tell you. |
southernyankee | | (reply to natsim) posted 22-Jan-2002 6:24pm |
I am guessing its the chlorine. That's because I have swallowed water before in a pool, which had a lot higher concentration of chlorine than tap water(obviously) and it was surprisinly sweet. Aslo, the shower water and the bathroom water I heard have more chlorine than the kithchen water, and they are both sweeter so my conclution is that chlorine tastes sweet. (but not good for you, sound familiar lol) |
Galomorro | | posted 22-Jan-2002 7:32pm |
There's a definite difference. I am in the habit of filling my coffeemaker with water from the bathroom sink's tap. |
| natsim |
Except that the house I grew up in was not supplied by town water... we had our own (rain) water supply. And why would the shower water have more chlorine? Does it come from a different supply?
It's so confusing! |

You could be onto something! |
| mandy | | posted 22-Jan-2002 9:20pm |
It's colder and seems fresher. |
| Zang | | posted 23-Jan-2002 12:35am |
I've noticed in the past, in other residences, that the water in the bathroom seemed to come out colder quicker and hence seemed more palatable. |
| Avocado | | posted 23-Jan-2002 2:44am |
I've never noticed a difference.
I am, however, amused by the fact that some left coast folks act like you're drinking out of the toilet whenever you get a glass of water from the sink. |
| cpierson | | posted 23-Jan-2002 9:41am |
No taste difference, but the bathroom water tends to get colder. |
| phi | | posted 23-Jan-2002 11:16am |
there's a filter on the kitchen faucet, but not on the one in the bathroom. So, yes. |
| Jemmy | | posted 23-Jan-2002 3:27pm |
I never noticed a difference. |
| kaleb777 | | (reply to natsim) posted 23-Jan-2002 5:18pm |
I've always noticed tap water tastes better after it's been cooled in the fridge. |
southernyankee | | (reply to natsim) posted 24-Jan-2002 2:54pm |
The shower probably comes from the same supply as the bathroom water, and the sink water(along with kitchen water) comes from a different suppy. Maybe the water picks up cholire from a different storage tank while going from one pipe to the next. Don't ask me, I am not a plumming expert. All I know(or at least I think I know) is that chlorine tastes sweet, and that the water in my bathroom sink is sweeter than the one in the kitchen sink(that one I know for sure) |
| jkiehart | | posted 19-Feb-2002 9:57pm |
YES! IT'S BETTER AND COLDER! WHY IS THAT???? |
| jkiehart | | (reply to Oscar) posted 19-Feb-2002 10:01pm |
You're in farmland, basically, right? I remember the water in Ohio blew chunks. But now I live in NYC, and we have some of the certifiably best tap water in the country. It is SO GOOD! It comes from resevoirs upstate, and, man, if you're looking for good tapwater, man... it rocks. Sorry, I'm drunk. |
| Oscar | | (reply to jkiehart) posted 19-Feb-2002 11:34pm |
lol When they started putting a particular chemical in our water they warned not to drink it if you are on kidney dialysis and not to use it in fish tanks. I have killed fish before by putting tap water in their tanks... |

OH MY GOD. That's awful! You should... sue or something! |

| Sirsmokealot |
What water are you guys tasting? |
| clare | | posted 3-Aug-2006 11:49pm |
The water in my kitchen tastes better, but that's because we use a Brita filter pitcher which removes the chlorine taste. |
