bunnies are cute, but they make me sneeze, which bumped them down on the list. Kittens are cutest. Babies aren't that cute...they all look the same, and do a lot of drooling. That isn't cute.

I guess it also depends on how old they are... When very new (2 days) neither kittens not human babies are very cute...

In order: Ducklings, Chicks, Bunnies, Puppies, Kittens, Human Babies, Lambs.

Chicks? Shouldn't that be Baby Chickens? It sounds awful degrading to me.

Kittens are the cutest. Would they be as cute if they were the adult form of something and their babies were even smaller?

Bill: I used to be late all the time when Hamlet was a kitten - he was so cute and cuddly. Now when I wake up I drop him on the floor (gently) ...

Jen, the kitties made me late for work because they both decided to curl up in my lap (while I was sitting at my PC) and I just couldn't make them move.
jer, Kittens! touche!
reality, we just bought one a week ago. Yes, they like it - though they are still a little young. Romkey's kitten Rebo really liked the laser pointer he had. Zooty (sp?), his other kitten had no interest in it though.

I think I put babies below rats.

I've found that some cats (Merlin and Morgaine, Ted Beatie's Siamese siblings, for example) and most human babies are too smart for laser pointers. They figure out that the red dot is connected to the thing in your hand and try to stare up the beam to figure out how. Not good. Zooty is smarter than his brother -- perhaps this is the problem.

Babies would get a 1, except I'm always so wary of dropping them on their heads or something. Kittens and puppies have the advantage of being more energetic and less destructable. Chicks are too oblivious and bunnies are too greedy. ducklings are a laugh riot, but wicked messy. Having grown up on a farm, I can't look at a lamb without thinking about all the work it takes to keep them healthy.

The placement of human babies depends quite a bit on their age - the under 2 mos crowd are ugly...

*bill: do you own a laser pointer? they make great toys for cats (and small children).
*bill: odd... I have yet to meet a cat that didn't like it...
*eris: I will definitely agree with that.. newborns are ugly.. after a few months they cuten up...

What, no piglets? This was *hard*.

Phi: yeah, but babies sometimes do really cute human-like things.
Jefff: bunnies bounce (word of experience).

Bill/Jer: I find that kittens are only cute when in motion. But Jer is misinterpreting 'bunny' to mean 'pet rabbit' rather than 'baby rabbit'. So I am finding it hard to judge. (oo! new survey!)
