I'm admired by lots of people. So by this definition, yes. But in my opinion, admiration does not a hero make!

Yes - to a few of people that I worked with. On the other hand, there are also some that I worked with that really hated me...(I think they were just jealous!)

I was a hero 13-15 years ago to my little brother. He followed me 'round everywhere and I could do no wrong.
he's older and wiser now and sees right through me!

I agree with you - I saved a baby once, maybe I'm his "hero" now but that answer didn't seem to suit this question.

Hero may be taking it a bit far. But my best friend said something lovely to me the other day - she said she feels I complete her, when I'm not around her she doesn't quite feel whole. It made my day to hear that.

That is so sweet! My School Best Friend recently sent me the lyrics of 'Days' by The Kinks (covered by Kirsty McColl)

Thank you for the days
Those endless days you gave me.

At scout camp, I actually try to befreind as many campers as possible, unlike most of the staff. I have tons of little Scouts (ages 11-14) thinking I'm the coolest thing since sliced bread. Why? I try to be their freinds because it's fun.

But sometimes it is annoying. Sometimes there's a Scout or two that will follow me around and want me to sit with them at dinner and try to get my address and number and such. Being a role model is great, but it has a price. SANITY!

Right now I think I am sort of a hero--more of a role model--to my mother. I am probably a "hero" to other people (so I checked that option), although I couldn't really say whom. I am certainly "admired" by more than one person.

I was watching the new series of Sex and the City last night and in the second one, it began with Carrie in a bar with her bra and pants on the outside of her black clothes. I think it was a fashion statement but I didn't get it.......!

yeah, I realize people are likely to be pretty polar here, as they are in their thinking about themselves anyway... I'd like to do some surveys to get people to try to think more about how others perceive them but it's tough to coax them into thinking that way when all you have is a textual monologue in the form of a survey...

I just this second posted a message to cuteasabutton about this programme. I love that programme but the best part of the programme is the expectation of what the wardrobe on the show are going to get Carrie to wear next. Sometimes I just sit there shocked.(I'm so glad that series is back on)

I've been watching the repeats of the first two series recently and suddenly seeing them all in their 5th (?) season made me realise how much weight they've all lost. Particularly Miranda - she looked awful * frown * I want to grab all these skinny women and feed them a proper diet. They shouldn't be able to flaunt their eating disorders on television. If someone was cutting themselves, tv shows wouldn't allow their wounds/scars to be seen.....

My heroes are Dolly Parton and Jigglypuff! * grin *

I think I might be a hero to my little former step-sister-to-be Dioné. She always looks up to me and has told me that she admires me a lot. It's really funny the way she's even imitated by make-up style (black liquid eyeliner, lashes curled with black mascara on them, pale lips and no foundation--which by the way will be really hot this year--hee hee--it was my signature before any of the make-up pros said so) and my hair (worn long, tons of layers, blown-dry and ironed).

I am a hero to my daughter.
When she was running for Tulip Ambassador 2 years ago, it was her turn on stage to answer questions and tell why she wanted to be Tulip Ambassador. The MC asked her who her hero was....She said, "My Mom..because she's always there for me...".

I sat in the audience and all the mom's nearby turned and smiled at me and I got all choked up...all the other kids were saying stuff like...Hercules..and Michael Jordan.

That will be really hot again after a long and tired run of it? Personally, it bores me. Too obvious.
I guess I'm just a trendy New Yorker.
We New York women never wear much makeup. ESPECIALLY never "foundation," or "makeup," or whatever it's called; that caulky stuff all over the face. Too fussy. Just keep your skin perfect, and you don't have to worry about making it appear perfect.

Not to any human being, but -

Yes, there is a black cat who comes by every night, meows and scratches at the back door until I come out and sit with him for 10-15 minutes. Then he leaves.

I know, you say "Why don't you take him in?". Answer, we have a house full of cats already. I love every one too.
