the front page, local news, obituaries, society page, the columns (Ann Landers, Heloise, Miss Manners, and the Kovel antiques column), the funnies, the Internet, book, movie, and music articles, the TV listings, store ads. |

I read mostly the sports section, and also the comics. If the front page has a good story that jumps at me when I pick it up, I might find out about it. I sometimes read other sections, but usually just these. |

Ilike it all except the obits & sometimes the sports, financial |

I love to read the music and movie reviews from "The San Francisco Chronicle". Costa Rica's "La Nación"'s only good stuff are the horoscopes, the funnies and the movie page. |

Comics and the crossword puzzle, mainly. |

Ach, newspapers! I try not to subscribe to them unless I am moving and need packing material! They build up in the house, covering every surface as they get dragged from room to room. And it's annoying to see how proofreading standards have sunk. But I will read the funnies, the horoscopes, and the advice column, just for fun. |

I love to read newspapers but cannot afford to subscribe any. I only receive some free newspapers and advertisements. I am a subscriber of the National Geographic Magazine though (for the 8th year now) and MikroBitti which is the major computer mag (okay, nerd mag) here. Whenever I visit my parents I digest almost everything in the newspapers if they haven't recycled them yet. Helsingin Sanomat (Helsinki News) is the major Finnish newspaper. Although I could read the paper version at work, it's much more practical to read the news on the Net while working. And the Web version is completely free, too. If you want to check out some Finnish newspapers and weird language, go check at least these on-line newspapers: - http://www.helsinginsanomat.fi - Helsinki, has also an English mini-edition: http://www.helsinki-hs.net/ - http://195.255.83.67/cgi-bin/mediaweb - Hufvudstadsbladet, Helsinki, in Swedish - http://savonsanomat.fi - Kuopio, requires registration - http://www.kaleva.fi - Oulu - http://www.aamulehti.fi - Tampere, requires registration - http://www.turunsanomat.fi - Turku - http://www.pohjalainen.fi - Vaasa - http://www.vasabladet.fi - Vaasa, in Swedish |

funnies and columns - i.e. where some person gets a full page or column once a week to cast their view on the world as they see it. I absolutely love (with a passion) Julie Burchill. Anyone who says different can't be my friend. Carol Sarler is good too. |

I read 3 newspapers regularly. The Guardian (national broadsheet - Monday-Saturday), The Sheffield Star (local paper - Monday-Saturday) and The Metro (free, quality tabloid available on public transport, trains, etc. Mondays-Saturdays.)
Between all those, I read the following sections: the front page, local news, national news, international news, the horoscopes (I know, it's shameful!), the tv listings, the letters pages, the cartoons (ah, Steve Bell!!!). A lot of those other sections aren't in any papers I get!
With The Guardian on a Saturday, there's The Editor which is a summing up of all the weeks news, but includes articles from papers, journals and websites all over the world. there's also The weekend which is a magazine and is completely worthless apart from one column about 400 words long. It's "Things my girlfriend and I argue about" by Mil Millington and it's the most wonderful regular column I have ever read! Our Weekend didn't come on Saturday (although the rest of the paper did) and we made my da walk to the papershop just because we wanted to read that bit! |

the only newspaper I really read these days it The Upper Valley News, which for a local paper has very little local news in it. |

All the news and the letters to the editor. All the other stuff is mostly the opinion of obsequious "reporters" with heavy left leanings so I ignore them. |
| autumnlight |
just the news, horoscopes and the letters page. I don't read reviews, I prefer to trust my own judgment, and all the other pages are boring. |

Local, national, horiscopes, classifieds, obituaries, recipies, theature and entertainment listings, music reviews, movie and play reviews, the editorial page, comics, advice column. I really like to read though. |

Are newspapers costly where you are? They are so very cheap here in the states...50 cents from the gas station and even less if you have them delivered. |

I love the North Bay Nugget (nugget.ca) here in Ontario, Canada |

1) I always start with Ann Landers/Dear Abby, mostly for the letters. I like to make up my own advice. Sometimes I check to see if they agree, but that is optional.
2) The comics. "Monty" is my favourite.
3) Editorial page (including letters to the editor).
Usually I stop there. If I only read one more thing it would be the international news. I scan through to see what's going on in Africa and Asia. I'm not as interested in what is being said about other places. |

Yes, you could say so. At least for me! A 12-month subscription (delivered home) of Helsingin Sanomat is some € 194 (USD 173). A single copy costs € 1.70 (USD 1.52).
What is good is that the newspapers are mostly very high in quality, unbiased and contain a lot of interesting articles to read. Today's (Jan 9) Helsingin Sanomat had 56 pages. |

That is pretty expensive for a paper! We have a independant paper here that you can get for free, and it is pretty good. A bit liberal for my taste- but an interesting read nonetheless. I assume that you have one of those where you live as well. |
| Wookiewoman |
I seldom read the paper but I do like the funnies and the front page (if it looks interesting). I'd rather watch the news on TV |

Yes, there are several papers like that - with a lot to read - but they're just monthly or bi-weekly papers. No free daily newspapers. |

Comics, entertainment news and music and movie reviews. But I hardly ever read the paper. |
