I wonder how this ties into "favorite". I imagine I feel most romantic during my favorite season, and least romantic during my least favorite. I love fall and spring, and can think of wonderfully romantic things to do then - hiking, biking, canoing, etc. Winter is OK, with skiing and hot tubs in ski chalets and such. Summer is just too hot. It's hard to feel romantic when you're lethargic and dying for an air conditioner. |

But the most romantic of all are the solstices and equinoxes. Hah! I bet you thought you'd covered all the options, didn't you! |

I find that each season has its own flavor of romantic or mate-hunting charm. |

Maybe it's because I have always lived in the south or southwest, but I just love winter. We seldom get any 'real' winter weather in Texas & I don't think there is anything more romantic than falling snow & all snuggled up in front of a roaring fire with a great guy (my husband of 36 years) & a bottle of really good wine. |

There's nothing romantic about being sweaty. However, nothing beats the romance value of a moonlit walk down a sparkling snowy street...*sigh* |

Winter, because snuggling is encouraged. Summer is just awful that way. |

I thought that this would probably map to my favorite seasons, but I found when I did this ranking that it doesn't at all. Fall is my favorite for both, but while I loathe summer, I do find it to be a romantic time, IME. |

Spring isn't about romance. Spring is about that other thing. |

Of course, now I live where there are only two seasons : Sunny and Rainy... |

I've always thought fall was cold enough that there was incentive to snuggle up to someone, but not so cold you just want to shiver. For me it's more than that, there's something about the smell and the temperature. |

I had to rate the seasons for Hong Kong. Fall and spring are the best because we have mainly dry weather. Summer and winter are the worst because it's rainy season. |

Autumn brings to mind new beginnings, first days of school, soccer practices, and the crispness of the air. To breathe in Autumn is unlike any other season. |

I think people tend to be more sexually active in summer. Summer is good for hot sweaty sex, but that's not really romantic. * drdt, what season is 9 months before Spring? |
