Of these, just books. But I really don't enjoy shopping!!! I only vaguely enjoy it when I'm buying gifts for people. |

Books, clothing and people. It's weird that I find humans so interesting considering I shun most of them. |

I HATE buying gifts for people. I always see heaps of stuff *I* want and can never find the perfect gift for others. I knew you'd be into books too. you don't get into Oxford by hanging around the jewelry stores. |

I mostly buy gifts for people when I see things I think they'd really like. Sometimes I'll hoard those for gift-giving times like christmas or birthdays. I prefer to just try to do nice things for my friends in general and not worry about it too much at christmas and birthdays. |

Don't you find that starts a gift "cold war" where your friends feel obligated to buy you something back? |

People, accessories, SHOES, cosmetics, entertainment stuff and clohes. |

I never see stuff I want enough to spend money on, but buying for other people is always easy! My mum has very similar taste to me and most of the friends I buy for are female so they're easy enough My dad and brothers are difficult though. Guys are so difficult to buy for! There are only so many screwdrivers you can buy for a man! And jewellry? Bleh! If anyone bought me jewellry, it would go straight in a drawer and never be seen again! |
romkey | | posted 24-Dec-2001 12:46pm |
it could but I think we're all cool with not buying one another things too... and sometimes a gift is doing something nice for someone instead of getting them something nice. We don't seem to be competitive in gift-giving. |

I wish there were some huge Tower records here. Most of the CD stores here are really small and that's not the right idea at all. You have to have space to walk around and look at stuff. I love to buy toys for my step-siblings-to-be. I love best to go to the Librerķa Internacional here. It's beautiful and spacious. There's always some H.H.-with-morals kind of guy to appeal to my intellectual craving who helps me find Steinbeck. I always get an idea for a story. It's crazy. |

Clothing, books, music, movies, toys, cosmetics, foods and beverages and jewelry. I like going shopping for others but have a hard time getting things for me... unless I'm in a toy store. |

Books, music, clothes, movies, toys, and cosmetics. After looking at all that I need to look at some food and eat it! |

You hate buying presents for people. I love it! I think I should be a professional shopper. My friends and family always ask me for help when picking out gifts for people. You could hire me to do it for you. LOL |

What do you get for someone who literally has everthing? This is the problem I had this Christmas. I had to settle for vouchers. |

Books, music, videos. I just go in HMV and toy shops, and sci fi shops like Last Picture Show. I absolutely hate clothes shopping. |

I also like to look in Spencer's Gifts, which is a gag gift/halloween/party shop with all sorts of strange things that are grotesque or tacky or bizarre or just plain funny.
But for general purpose shopping, I'm such a sucker for a housewares or gourmet cooking store or section. There is also a coffee shop in the mall that sells individual pieces of bone china from all around the world, and I love to look at them and at pretty things such as ornate snow-globes, porcelain dolls, and so on, even though I never buy them because I dislike a house filled with figurines and knicknacks. For me, looking and appreciating is enough enjoyment, and very few things of a decorative nature ever make it home with me, because there are few things I really want to look at, dust, and haul around with me through life. But looking is a pleasant experience!

Books, music, film. That's all I'm interested in. There's a shop in Hanley called Fantasy World. It sells video games, DVDs, comics, roleplay stuff, books, posters, slipknot overalls, other stuff. I can spend a whole afternoon in there. I browse gadget and novelty shops but rarely buy anything from them. I only buy clothes when I absolutely, positively have to, and even then grudgingly. |
