I had this happen to me last night. I had a "Replies [1]" in my nav bar, but when I clicked it, no new replies showed up. And, I couldn't get the number to clear. Unfortunately, it was evening and I was tired and not able to debug it much. But, I tried to save some state for today when I had some time to look at it. Later in the evening, I got another reply, and the number cleared on its own. I'm still not sure how/why that happened.
But, today, I looked at the replies code and found a problem. So, I fixed that and I'm hoping it may resolve the issue. The bug was kind of deep in there, so it's hard to tell what effects it might have had. But, I think it mainly would have cause the Replies number to show up without being cleared, like what happened to me. Possibily, it caused some replies to get hidden as well, in rare cases.
Anyway, I thought I'd mention it in case any of you notice some change (good or bad). Let me know if you do. | LindaH

If someone sends a reply and then chickens out and deletes it before the recipient sees it, does it erase the [1]? | bill

It should... I actually just tested that when I was looking into this and it worked. Though, it's still possible there are cases where it doesn't work. | Irene007

I don't think it's possible to delete a private reply that you sent... you can delete a reply if it's in a survey (not private). | Irene007
