Everytime I try to post a comment, the page changes to one of those unfound pages. The comment gets posted nevertheless but it's annoying. Do you know what it's doing it? | Iseult

Okay, it didn't do it just now when I was positing a topic, but I bet it will do it right now when I try to post this comment. | cerealkiller

It's you. Your computer doesn't like your negative energy. Burn some sage, do a few chants and everything should be fine. | bill

Can you give me more details about your situation?
What web browser are you using? Internet Explorer? What version? 6, 7, or 8? Or maybe FireFox? Also, what operating system (Windows? Mac?)
You said "post a comment", which implies you're talking about a survey page. But, you also seemed to correlate it to post in the forum, though you then said that it worked. Posting a comment under a survey is different from posting in the forum. So, that's actually a helpful clue. Unless you're saying that posting in the forum also doesn't work right sometimes.
I did change an aspect of the way comment posts work in surveys. After the post in made, the page get redirected to the survey page. This prevents a common problem with web posts where things (like a comment) can be doubled or reposted. It allows the reload button to work better for people to since it doesn't try to repost stuff (rarely what people wanted). Me telling you this may cause confusion, though, so sorry if I just did that.
Anyway, that redirect step may be the problem. I don't do the redirection with forum posts (yet). I'd like to someday, but it will be months before I'm at a point where I can rework the forum code.
Maybe you could give me more info about the "unfound" page you're getting. What does the error say? What is the web page address (URL/link whatever you want to call it) that your web browser is trying but failing to load?
Problems like this are hard for me to fix because I'm not seeing the problem myself. | Iseult

Okay, it hasn't happened again since, but I'll try and answer all your questions just for the reference.
I use IE 7, Windows XP.
It has only occured to me when I was in the Forum or here. Not when I was answering surveys.
I do not remember how the 'unfound' page looked like. I wanted to get more info about it for you but then it stopped happening. I'll make sure to get you all the info if it does occur again. | bill

OK, well that helps me understand it a lot better. I'm glad it's not the redirect thing I thought it might be.
I actually had someone on GameTZ.com say he had a weird problem in the forum there (which is the same code as Survey Central's). He said:
> "for some reason I keep getting randomly redirected to Yellowpages.com. What's going on? This only happens when I'm posting new threads. It's happened to me 3 times before I get this one sent."
Did you notice anything about Yellowpages.com when it happened to you?
He also said it just went away after a short time.
It didn't happen to many people, whatever it was. Maybe it was an ad (neither of you was subscribed, so both would have had ads running). Ads often use tricks that try to control the web browser in some way. So, they seem like a possible suspect.
Anyway, it may never happen again. But, let me know if it does. And, if so, try to gather more info about it if you can.
Thanks | Iseult

No, there was nothing about yellowpages. I think it took me to the good 404 page not found message.
